What Locals Say about North Beacon Hill

  • Trulia User
"Beacon Hill feels like a secret. I can walk down to the International District, ride my bike anywhere, drive in Seattle in 5 minutes or jump on the 90 and be in Bellevue in 15 minutes. The apartment sizes here are great too."

"Easy on light rail to downtown. Or biking as long as you don’t mind hills. I never ride the bus but it also seems convenient "

"Traffic has increased in the last few years. Cyclist friendly. It’s not so bad. There’s a little problem with the asian supermarkets on 12th ave that usually block one out of two lanes wich creates traffic when coming from downtown trough the Dr. Rizal Bridge. "

"Everyone is usually very kind. People smile at each other on the streets. There is a large population of Mexican and Somalian culture in the community which is wonderful to see. We have a little community garden where people can plant flowers and fruits and vegetables. "

"Seattle's best secret pocket, I've chose to live here in three different homes over the course of 30 years. A short bike or medium walk to downtown. A quiet, diverse, and un-hyped neighborhood. I travel often and I really appreciate that you can get to Sea-Tac in under 15min driving or 24min by light rail."

"This is a super quiet neighborhood which is right next to a beautiful park. In the summer you can feel free to walk into the I-90 trail and enjoy the Seattle Sun. In the winters and other seasons you still have access to the biking trails and amazing food at International district. "

Lawnbowling next door...surrounded by Cheasty Greenspace ideal for bikers, runners. Elementary school within walking. Two lightrail stations within 5-15 min walking distance and two blocks from bus stops. I-5 access and I-90 access within minutes. "My family has lived in the north end of Beacon hill for 6 years. First off, our neighbors!! I can say they are truly frieds! We have parties and swap child care. They take care of our cat when we are away and watch our home. It is an extended family here! And now, within walking distance, we have an awesome neighborhood pub, a fancy pizza/italian restaurant, vegetarian Indian, and great Mexican food! Kimball elementary is an awesome grade school with an open classroom concept and great diversity! Not to mention the convenience of the lightrail (my husband can be in his seat at the Sounders game in 15 minutes!), freeway access, and the beautiful improved Jefferson Park - complete with water play area for the kiddos, ziplines, and fun slides/playground equipment, and a skate park!! Our neighborhood is the best kept secret in Seattle - SHHHH!"
