About this House

This home is more of a contemporary cape. The front room has vaulted ceilings and skylight with a gas fireplace that abuts both the front room and kitchen. The kitchen is large with beautiful granite counter tops sculptured with waterfall edges. The rear of the property have decks off of the master and guest bedrooms. The home has stainless steel appliances with a wonderful gas cooking stove. Now excuse me one of the things I love the best is, after all these years, the upscale Weber Grille... now get this...it is hooked up to the natural gas line.... no more honey the gas has run out and the pork chops are not done. No more running to get tanks.... So the gas supply is out there and my beautiful bride is bugging me to get a gas heater for the deck... Hum! How deep does ones love go???

Neighborhood Description

It is very quiet. This property is at the end of Preakness Lane in a cul-de-sac. Preakness Lane is now a public street since we petitioned the town to take it over. The homeowners in this neighborhood (11 Homes) did not want to be responsible to take care of the street except we all contribute ($50) for the circle at the end of the cul-de-sac. The neighborhood is tree line with underground utilities and all properties are 1.39 - 1.50 Acres each. I love walking out into the driveway and looking at the clear night sky above with stars and galaxies above beckoning my imagination. No I'm not an incurable dreamer. At 65 I still look and am amazed!!

I love the lake and waking up in the morning to it and see the trees through my skylights. I love to hear the birds singing and see the swans on the lake. It is heaven. And there is so much to do in the area - there is Mashpee Commons and South Cape Village, with their shops and restaurants, and the local library that has just been built - gorgeous - and theaters and movie houses. Plus, Mashpee is only one hour from Boston, so if you want even more excitement or want to commute for your work, you can get home to your paradise so easily."
