My daughter has been bullied by a student and a teacher. I have seen this same teacher bully other students. The student who bullied was then put on a review committee to interview and judge the students she bullied. The school has a zero tolerance bully policy but it’s more like zero tolerance for those being bullied.I complained about the student and as a result the children who informed me what had happened got punished.I wrote a letter to the board of education and I received a one sentence response that to me means nothing will be done.So glad we will be done with this school. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great teachers here but they are being outweighed by the horrible things that the school just lets happen without repercussion.

The teachers are wonderful for the most part. A tenth of the lockers don't work or are missing pieces.

There's a bunch of people who you can't please no matter how hard you try lets be honest. Have my experiences all been positive here? No. I'd be a liar if I said they were, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better school anywhere, especially a public school, that's this amazing these days. It's the mixture of staff and great leadership here that make you feel like you're walking into what this school is, a small cozy place with people who care that years from now I'll look back at and have warm memories of our time spent in Barkhamsted Elementary School.
