Description

As you pass through the entrance gates, you immediately sense the tranquil ambiance of this European-style villa. Surrounded by gorgeous and thoughtful landscaping, curated and nurtured for decades, the stucco Mediterranean architecture of the residence conveys calm and serenity. Renovated in 2019, the Kirby Grimes design home, with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, is set on a .92 acre parcel and provides sweeping sunset vistas. The centerpiece of the home is its open-plan kitchen and dining area, which share a dual-sided fireplace with the spacious living room on the other side of a graceful archway. The kitchen, featuring stainless steel appliances and beautifully designed cabinets, sets the stage for memorable gatherings and culinary celebrations. The first floor is completed with a family room/office, full bathroom, and oversized, 2-car garage. The central staircase leads to the upper level, where the primary bedroom suite offers panoramic views of an adjacent 18.5 acre agricultural reserve and its array of majestic specimen trees, shrubs and flowers. The primary suite includes a luxurious bath and shower, a freestanding soaking tub, and 2 walk-in closets. Two other generous bedrooms are accompanied by a hallway full bath. The second-floor laundry room adds to the overall ease of the household. A secondary staircase leads to a versatile upper level featuring a comfortable bedroom and sitting room, full bath, and separate office space that can serve as a swing bedroom as needed. The unfinished lower level is dry and comfortable. The outdoor space is truly magical and varied. The 50'x16' heated gunite pool, outdoor shower, and pool house are surrounded by stone patios and various seating areas that capture spectacular sunset views and offer settings for al fresco dining. The expansive lawn area, enclosed by beautiful hedges, includes a tree strung hammock and a private vegetable garden, all combining to create a stunningly picturesque setting in which to entertain and to relax. Amenities close by are world-class ocean beaches along with the shops and restaurants of East Hampton Village.

"No street lights so no walking or riding at night. Very little or no real frond to speak of around here. There were car break ins last spring and summer but other wise it’s always been pretty quiet. "

"There are no street lights so it’s not safe to walk or ride at night. It’s fairly safe as far as crimes goes. Over the past year there had been car break ins but no home burglaries. "

"Certain roads are good for walking dogs but not Long Lane and Cedar. There are no sidewalks and the traffic is heavy. There are plenty of spots to drive your dog to for a good leash walk. "

"I’ve lived here for over 25 years. It’s a unique area. I’m on Long Lane it’s mostly agricultural and commercial. The traffic can be heavy at certain times of the year due to the high school and the commercial nurseries. But the trade off is worth it. I love it because it’s still feels rural. I have learned to live with the dust and diesels because it’s so close to town but isn’t overly suburbanized. You have to still have some grit to live here. "
