Camptonville School is a small school that provides a lot for their students. Each main classroom (3) houses multiple grades with a lead teacher and teacher aid, students in grades 5 to 8 can participate in basketball and flag football competing against other local small schools. Art, music, poetry instruction along with a variety of electives throughout the school year are provided at different times during the school year. The school has a well developed School Wellness Policy focusing on nutrition, physical exercise and mental health. For me the best advantage of Camptonville School is that it mirrors the adage, it takes a village to raise a child, no student goes unnoticed and all students are treated with respect. Small scools offer numerous advantages over larger schools, parents have ample opportunity to volunteer and participate in their childs education on campus, teachers and staff are like having another family away from home, and no student falls through the cracks. They are also limited by their overall budget not allowing for before/after school programs, year round art instruction and without parent volunteers school team sports would more than likely not exist.
