Any new student that wants to play soccer at La Serna don’t waste your time. This school is not vested in this sport. There is no soccer field for training and the soccer coach was last pickings.If your kid really wants to play soccer see other schools.Educational wise, there really no critical thinking. LAUSD has a better curriculum. I will be relocating my son to another school.DISCLAIMER: My opinion as a parent.

The one star is for PTA, the interactions I've had with them have always been pleasant. Other than that I wouldn't recommend. Had no idea who the principal was until the last day of school, she's nowhere to be found. As I was walking out from dropping off my child there was a concerned father whose daughter was being bullied and the principal hadn't gotten back to him in days. Front office is so rude, for no reason. They harass you over attendance but my child without fail had gotten sick. every. single. month and was out for at least 2 days. I'm not sure if they pack the classes more than they should, the teachers always seem overwhelmed. It also seems the parents around my neighborhood send their children to Leffingwell, I should've taken that as a sign. Every parent I've talked to has said that the teachers there are "ok", and that is exactly how I felt about my child's teacher.
