"Nice area...seasonal...quaint community...good restaurants lots of outdoor activities as well as town events...holiday spirit...up pretty high..foothills...sunsets...snow...lots of clear days....great views...located nicely between Sacramento and Reno,nv."

"It’s a quiet neighborhood with mostly Victorian homes. It’s near a high school but that doesn’t seem to affect traffic or the peaceful atmosphere. It’s fairly close to Hwy 49 so there’s a lot of background noise but one gets used to it pretty quickly. There are several nice parks and trails nearby. It’s a decent place to raise a family. It’s also within walking distance to of historic downtown and shopping. "

"Nature, small town, community, local business, people are super nice or want to be left alone, outdoors, cooler than down the hill, hippies, snow, river/lakes/hiking, tahoe and sac a little over an hour away and safe enviroment."

"It is like living in a tourist town. Cost of living is higher. Housing more expensive than I am used to. I am displaced due to the camp fire and my employer relocated me here and I am grateful. "

"Grass Valley is great, but something strange in a brewing in the air around here. whatever it is it's not good. But schools are great!! There is a lot of homeless and illicit drug use and I'm not talking marijuana either. At first, I thought the people were nice, but I think that's only in Penn Valley. Grass Valley has many younger/middle-age folk that act like they are in high school and are brutal to new comers. That being said, I have met many kind individuals who have been welcoming."
