9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a current student in LGHS, and I like this school. When it comes to tests/quizes, teachers give us kahoots and quizziz to study. In one of my classes, notes are allowed to be used on the tests. The student council provides help with choosing the right classes, and getting part time jobs. The classrooms look like factories. When I was getting enrolled in this school, I didn't know what electives to choose, it all didn't seem right for me and I wasn't sure if I should try it. But after I saw the school and classrooms, I wanted to try EVERYTHING in there. The lunches are good, there are a lot of choices. Even if I don't like something, I'll still have something to eat. Lunch lines are different from the middle school I was in. In middle school there was 1 lunch line, and here there are 2. Teachers make learning really fun. There is also college and career center. There they tell us about different colleges. The school also gives us good volunteering opportunities. At first I was nervous, because I had never done volunteering, but then I found out that it wasn't so bad, in fact, it was great. There are also tennis courts and a pool. I'm not doing sports, but I know that there are sports teams, and wrestling classes. During PE there was a swimming unit and we were also taught about how to do CPR and Heimlich maneuver. These are some great life skills that will come in handy. I think it's a great school. But my parents complain that there are so many emails coming from LGHS, and it's only from my school. I think that it's more emails than from my siblings' middle and elementary schools together.Student Review3mo ago - Louise Van Meter Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe joined Louise Van Meter when my daughter was 5 in TK. She has been at the school for 3 years now and we love it. She is now in first grade. The teachers help the kids develop a love for learning. My daughter can read full books, spell, write, and she is excelling in math as well. She is motivated to learn which comes directly from their teachers and staff. Beyond the traditional academics, she is learning Spanish, art, and music. They have a steam (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) lab where they have a mix of age-appropriate projects for each class to go through. The school is also expanding their coding curriculum. This is a school that nurtures your kids first, but offers a “Silicon Valley” curriculum as well. We are so happy with all of the staff and programs at Van Meter and are looking forward to bringing our preschooler here when he’s old enough. Additionally, we moved here to Los Gatos only 3 years ago and the community at Van Meter welcomed us and provided social gatherings for our children as well as adult-only events where we could connect with parents. It is truly a community and we are so thankful to all the parents for bringing us into the family fold.Parent Review5mo ago - Raymond J. Fisher Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers can't teach. It's hit or miss. 6th graders should be in elementary school, not middle school. They are not mature enough to handle what goes on there!Parent Review5y ago - Check out schools near 15220 Kennedy Rd.

"Beautiful downtown has it all. Shops, restaurants, a restored movie theater plus fantastic views of the hills. If you are prefer the active lifestyle, the downtown straddles the Los Gatos creek trail which runs 10 miles from Lexington Reservoir in the hills all the way past beautiful Vasona Lake Park through Campbell into Willow Glen. That’s in addition to endless hiking and mountain biking trails and a Courtside the nicest gym in the South Bay. With a concert or festival seemingly twice a week there is something for everyone. "
