  • Linda LaCom
"Lots of traffic at certain times of the day. I don’t go to downtown unless I am departing from the airport!"
  • Pzhukovin
"Very quiet and private beach community. Others are way more populated and crowded. Del Mar is a sleepy beach town in comparison. "
  • Travis
"It’s a great neighborhood. Del Mar race track, lots of restaurants that can ride my bike too! I can walk on the beach. A lot of festivals going on, belly Up, etc."
  • Trulia User
"Easy Drive to downtown against traffic. No delays in morning. Return might slow down right at 1st exit for Del Mar. "
  • Waverley A. R.
"Old Del Mar is dog friendly and we all know each other’s dog’s names and sometimes we know their owner’s names, lol. Cars will slow for dogs being walked and I have never encountered a dog off-leash."
  • Waverley A. R.
"I work from home and am able to walk my dog intermittently throughout the day. This is a wonderfully tranquil neighborhood. "
  • Will Z.
"Plenty of parks, trails, and dog-friendly beaches and restaurants. Weather is almost always pleasant."
  • Jeffrey B.
"Great neighborhood and quiet and beautiful. Welcome home. Great neighborhood and quiet and beautiful. Welcome home. "
  • Mbergamin71
"They’re everywhere and allowed on the beach! Everyone loves dogs. Just remember to bring your plastic baggies to pick up the poop."
  • Erikasughey
"Love this area. Safe and amazing views. Easy to walk to restaurants, bars and shopping................"
  • Erikasughey
"love being so close to the beach. It's safe and quite. Bars and restaurants are within walking distance. "
  • Charly N.
"Farmers market featuring local businesses every week is a perk! The summer concerts on the beach are also pleasant"
  • Richmkoll
"It is a great place to live, bring up children and visit but it definitely has an old feel to it. It is mostly comprised of older generations."
  • Dayherndon
"Unique homes, quiet, secluded street. One mile uphill from the beach a nice walk for the athletic type"
  • Dara C.
"I have lived and worked in the neighborhood and find Del Mar to be the best place to call home! It has possibly the nicest stretch of beach in San Diego county, has an excellent Lifeguard department and Community Services department. The Del Mar Foundation and Del Mar Village Association offer tons of fun events to partake in year round but best of all summer concerts in Powerhouse Park. The village has a plethora of top restaurants from Del Mar Pizza to Pacifica Seafood and Jake's on the beach. It is a beach town so summertime is busy with people visiting from all around the world. The Del Mar Race Track is nearby and a short drive away are area attractions such as Seaworld, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Coronado, La Jolla, Legoland and more. "
  • Info
"This house is one of the nicest beach homes I have seen. Whenyou think "Beach Cottage" this one is picture perfect. "
  • Carl
"Stratford Ct between 4th and 6th St is very quiet but has no stores or places for kids to play. Sidewalks are discontinuous between here and town. It is at the top of a bluff overlooking the ocean, but there is no beach access due to the height of the bluff wall (~60'). The nearest beach access is several blocks away. The only traffic is local with the occasional tourist who thinks there is beach access."
  • Steve C. R. E. P.
"One of the best places to live anywhere if you like the classic beach community. Del Mar is a California jewell where the surf meets the turf and the fun meets the sun. This is the good life in the ultimate location, location, location."
