Description

Heart of Del Mar. Soul of Laidback Luxury. Check the surf from your bedroom at this 5+BD, 8BA new-era craftsman on a distinctly historic street. The design manifests Del Mar’s effortless style: wrap-around porch w/ocean views, post & beam ceiling, Dutch door, shaker siding, indoor-outdoor living w/ seabreezes. The ultimate retreat to exhale? It’s a rambling third level w/ a media room, library and 3 private ensuite bedrooms. Just steps from the bluff trails, Del Mar Village shops & restaurants. Big on charm. And big on livable space. It’s a rare combination, especially in Del Mar. Claim your enviable perch on 10th Street, one of the village’s original roads featuring unobstructed ocean views and access to breathtaking bluff trails. Thoughtfully designed by preeminent local architects Bokal & Sneed, this gem maintains all the character of a coastal craftsman while leveraging privacy and effortless flow. Exhibit A: The central living space features an airy kitchen and living room with a huge fireplace and access to outdoor living. The front porch embraces community and views, while the interior courtyard serves as your intimate outdoor living and dining room. With a fireplace and hedges for privacy, it oozes warmth. Expect a material palette that’s luxurious and timeless throughout. There’s Duchateau wide-plank floors in burnt oak; a calcutta marble island and countertops; custom built-ins, Wolf 60” Double Range; Sub-Zero Column refrigerator and freezer; Fisher & Paykel double dishwasher and a butler pantry boasting Sub-Zero wine fridge and ample storage space. Upstairs, the primary suite is a nest to savor panoramic views that stretch from Torrey Pines to Solana Beach. A Victoria & Albert clawfoot tub is the star of the primary marble bathroom. Plus: A walk-in closet. On the lower level, discover a soulful retreat designed for unplugging. Here, there’s a media room, a large office and library with built-in cases; three ensuite bedrooms, a powder room, a laundry room and flex space for a gym or nursery. Tap into the quintessential North County beach lifestyle, and leave the car at home. You are within walking distance to the farmers market, library, post office, iconic beaches, hiking trails, and the buzzworthy Village of Del Mar is brimming with new and noteworthy spots.

  • Linda LaCom
"Lots of traffic at certain times of the day. I don’t go to downtown unless I am departing from the airport!"
  • Pzhukovin
"Very quiet and private beach community. Others are way more populated and crowded. Del Mar is a sleepy beach town in comparison. "
  • Travis
"It’s a great neighborhood. Del Mar race track, lots of restaurants that can ride my bike too! I can walk on the beach. A lot of festivals going on, belly Up, etc."
  • Trulia User
"Easy Drive to downtown against traffic. No delays in morning. Return might slow down right at 1st exit for Del Mar. "
  • Waverley A. R.
"Old Del Mar is dog friendly and we all know each other’s dog’s names and sometimes we know their owner’s names, lol. Cars will slow for dogs being walked and I have never encountered a dog off-leash."
  • Waverley A. R.
"I work from home and am able to walk my dog intermittently throughout the day. This is a wonderfully tranquil neighborhood. "
  • Will Z.
"Plenty of parks, trails, and dog-friendly beaches and restaurants. Weather is almost always pleasant."
  • Jeffrey B.
"Great neighborhood and quiet and beautiful. Welcome home. Great neighborhood and quiet and beautiful. Welcome home. "
  • Mbergamin71
"They’re everywhere and allowed on the beach! Everyone loves dogs. Just remember to bring your plastic baggies to pick up the poop."
  • Erikasughey
"Love this area. Safe and amazing views. Easy to walk to restaurants, bars and shopping................"
  • Erikasughey
"love being so close to the beach. It's safe and quite. Bars and restaurants are within walking distance. "
  • Charly N.
"Farmers market featuring local businesses every week is a perk! The summer concerts on the beach are also pleasant"
  • Richmkoll
"It is a great place to live, bring up children and visit but it definitely has an old feel to it. It is mostly comprised of older generations."
  • Dayherndon
"Unique homes, quiet, secluded street. One mile uphill from the beach a nice walk for the athletic type"
  • Dara C.
"I have lived and worked in the neighborhood and find Del Mar to be the best place to call home! It has possibly the nicest stretch of beach in San Diego county, has an excellent Lifeguard department and Community Services department. The Del Mar Foundation and Del Mar Village Association offer tons of fun events to partake in year round but best of all summer concerts in Powerhouse Park. The village has a plethora of top restaurants from Del Mar Pizza to Pacifica Seafood and Jake's on the beach. It is a beach town so summertime is busy with people visiting from all around the world. The Del Mar Race Track is nearby and a short drive away are area attractions such as Seaworld, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Coronado, La Jolla, Legoland and more. "
  • Info
"This house is one of the nicest beach homes I have seen. Whenyou think "Beach Cottage" this one is picture perfect. "
  • Carl
"Stratford Ct between 4th and 6th St is very quiet but has no stores or places for kids to play. Sidewalks are discontinuous between here and town. It is at the top of a bluff overlooking the ocean, but there is no beach access due to the height of the bluff wall (~60'). The nearest beach access is several blocks away. The only traffic is local with the occasional tourist who thinks there is beach access."
  • Steve C. R. E. P.
"One of the best places to live anywhere if you like the classic beach community. Del Mar is a California jewell where the surf meets the turf and the fun meets the sun. This is the good life in the ultimate location, location, location."
