About this House

The pinnacle of a home hub..this Lower Fire Lake waterfront property is pristine..and the ultimate pilot landing pad. Custom built hillside ranch designed to incorporate the finer things in life..like welcoming friends over for socials, window wildlife watching, spectacular sunsets..and a remote controlled hydraulic float plane lift to hop in your 185 for an impromptu fly-out day trip in a flash!!Elevated just high enough above the lake to have a bird's eye view of the scenic surroundings, it's the perfect setting to kick back and relax on one of 3 Trex decks with cable safety railings that wrap around the sunny south and west sides. The upper decks have sound system speakers and gas lines for a grill off the dining room deck...and a gas option to heat the hot tub on the master suite side. The home's interior is equally as stunning. 10ft ceilings on the main floor and 20ft ceilings in the living room where a grand wall of insulated and sound reducing storm windows frames the lake. The glass has a UV sun ray treatment to protect you from damaging rays that might otherwise reflect from the glare. The majority of the windows are dressed with Hunter Douglas shades...and 3 of the 4 bedrooms have blackouts for summertime rest. The wood burning fireplace is decorated with river rocks from a local glacier and has a quick-start gas log lighter. The living room TV is on an electric lift system so that it lowers down into a cabinet out of view when not in use. In-floor radiant heat throughout the home keeps your feet warm year-round. If you like to entertain, the kitchen was designed for hosting...Viking 6-burner gas range plus a griddle, double ovens, a warming drawer, oversized built-in refrigerator, wine cooler, and dual islands - one for food prep along with a sink and a separate island where guests can gather around or have a seat for a light bite while on the move. The adjoining dining room has space for large formal sit down dinners and easy flow for meet and greets that naturally spread out to the decks and great room. The cabinetry and wood accents are all crafted from red birch with pull out shelves on the lower halves. The granite counters are a timeless staple to a chef's kitchen. If you like surprises, check out the pantry...it is a California Closet custom built room that is impressive! And there's a subtle end cabinet dedicated to spice organization. The master suite is on the main floor designed with a gas fireplace and a custom radiant heated wall built between the bedroom and living room. The ensuite bath features a steam shower, soaking tub and a walk-in closet with custom organizers including locking jewelry drawers. There are three more bedrooms downstairs along with a rec room, a keypad locked gun room and a hobby room with a sink, work bench and pegboard for tools or accessories to support flexible interests. The downstairs ceilings are 9ft tall. Double French doors off the rec room open to the lower deck overlooking the lake and beach below. The house is plumbed with an Electrolux central vac system that the sellers use and give a firm thumbs up. The kick plate instant vac under the kitchen sink is genius for a quick clean. All of the windows are double hung - meaning they can pop out easily to be cleaned and put back in. So handy! If the power goes out in the area, it won't go out here! The whole house is wired with an automatic switch to a 13kw Cummins automatic standby natural gas generator with web accessed system monitoring and control. The switch engages on its own. There are two ways to get down to the lake from the house. The first is by Trex stairs from the upper deck to the lower deck and on down. Or there is a private gravel driveway that "Myrtle" can drive you to. Myrtle is the Kawasaki 2510 Mule side by side that the sellers are willing to include in the sale. She's great for hauling supplies and fun to drive. There are two floating docks, a hydraulic plane/boat lift, a 6 x 10' boat house and a 10 x 16' storage shed with a drive in ramp and steel roof and wired for electric. Just above the boat house is a separate buried water line with a valve. On just shy of an acre, there is space for a boat, a plane, water toys, winter toys and gear. For daily flights, Fire Lake doesn't get the same harsh wind patterns or lake congestion that Campbell Lake is known for. It's quieter here, calmer and easier to consistently get in and out from the seller's perspective. And he's had a lot of practice - flying his Cessna 185 in and out of here nearly every day for the last 22 years. Fire Lake...welcome home

"There are plenty of places to walk with paths and parks around the area. At least the park where the Bear Paw is held has poop bags already there, which makes it a nice place with a wide area to take your pup. "
  • Robert Ancheta
"Local church holds events for holidays, fireworks for Independence Day and New Yearโ€™s at the local school, Bear Paw festival all without having to go over to Anchorage. "
  • Laura Southwell
"The roads are ROUGH in the winter! People say itโ€™s well maintained, but the road gets VERY narrow, and there is so much snow sometimes the plows wonโ€™t get to the side streets until well after 10am. Good luck getting to work! You definitely need 4wd and good winter tires or studs!"
  • Trulia User
"Itโ€™s great for dog walking. Great sidewalks and trails, and most people pick up after their dogs. "
  • Trulia User
