About this House

It's all about the views at this Donner house which showcases a total of three gorgeous decks that overlook the revered Donner Lake. This home has been a second home for many years and we are now looking for a long term tenant.

Bedrooms:
The interior is comprised of a total of 3 full bedrooms as well as private sleeping alcove on the first floor which has twin bunk beds and a 3rd mattress under the bottom bunk. The first floor is a living room area and has a full bathroom with shower and a laundry room. Washer and dryer stay with the home.
The master bedroom is located on the 2nd floor which features a king bed, and an adjacent full bath with tub. Please note the bedrooms do not have closets in them, all closets are located outside of each bedroom.

The two additional bedrooms are located on the 3rd floor and consist of a queen bed in one room and a full bed plus a twin bed in the other. Each third floor bedrooms feature sliding doors out onto a private deck, at the top of the staircase for the third floor is a landing area with desk for a workspace, and a large closet shared for both bedrooms. A half bathroom is located on the 3rd floor.

The property can be rented with all furnishings or without, but would prefer to leave furniture (or at least most) in place.

We have a newer mini-split heat/AC system so every room can be controlled for both heat and air and floors 1 and 2 has a gas fireplace that heats up nicely as well.

Gas stove and dishwasher in kitchen with outside access to rear fenced yard.

The 2nd floor deck is an amazing entertaining space and has views of Donner Lake.

Rent will include Gas, Electric, Garbage, and snow plow service for the road (you can elect driveway for additional fee)

You must be ok with stairs, we have LOTS of them. Stairs to get to the front door, and 3 stories of stairs.

Will consider pets, and the yard is fenced

Parking: The home has a strict limit of 2 cars, only two spots in driveway parking and street parking is very limited. There is really no street parking, and the driveway is tight.

Available by September 1 but potentially mid August if furnished. Looking for a 12 month lease and long term tenant.

Rent price is listed under what Zillow indicates for rent, and will include utilities to compensate for stairs, lack of garage, and closet configuration. We are looking for someone who wants to stay awhile.

Owner pays Garbage, Water, Gas, Electric and snow plow for the road.

Tenant will pay any internet/cable and if wanted driveway plow

"I live about 150 miles away so my commute would be quite arduous if I lived here full time. That being said I suppose I could take a private plane and then it would be quite enjoyable."

"too much traffic on my hill . Snow plow makes a berm.... must stay on top of it. Keep plenty of wood. Nice in the spring and summer. I like the music in the park and at Squaw in good weather. winter utilities are high. Fuel is high . Shopping in Re.no is much better price wise. "

"Movie night in the summer at Tahoe dinner. Summer concert series. The Beach club and activities at dinner lake. Skiing at Tahoe Donner Ski hill as well as hiking all the trails. "
  • Dalsey e.
"Truckee is a great place to have a dog or multiple dogs. There are national parks and open spaces where dogs can run off leash safely without the danger of cars. If you don’t have a tracker or if your dog doesn’t return on command then you might want to think about keeping them on a leash. There is a lot of wild life to make your dog run off and get lost. "
  • Your F. W.
"This is a dog friendly area. It is safe to walk with animals and safe to do so. Unfortunately the street can be Busy "
