Description

This property is no longer available to rent or to buy. This description is from September 13, 2023
If location is a priority and you want to put your personal touch on your next home, you need to add this one to your must-see list. With four bedrooms, three baths, one living area, and one flex space, there’s plenty of room to add your style. The kitchen is updated with white, 42-inch cabinets, decorative tile backsplash, and granite countertops. The primary bedroom is significant and has an ensuite bath. There’s a second bedroom with an ensuite bath with an oversized shower. The indoor utility room is a treat. The oversized deck (which needs some TLC) off the back of the home will be a perfect place to have that morning cup of coffee. Shopping, restaurants, and entertainment are minutes away. Less than one-half block to Brentwood Park, a mile to Crestview Metrorail station, less than two miles to Hwy 183, and two miles to IH-35, this home is in a prime location in one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in north Austin. Bring your imagination and make this place your own.

"Although there are only a few families with young children on our street, the McCallum public high school is in our neighborhood. It is the home of Austin Independent School District’s award winning Fine Arts Academy. So it’s excellent for kids interested in music (instrumental and vocal), visual arts, dance, cinema, and theatre."

"I’ve lived in the Brentwood neighborhood since May of 2018 and to be honest there has been more crime related incidences in this neighborhood than any other I’ve lived in Austin. I was born and raised in Austin & I’ve lived in 14 different areas, Rundberg included & Brentwood is still the worst in crime/safety."

"I've lived in this neighborhood for 10 years. The elementary school is wonderful, and there is a lot of community involvement. There is a festival each year at the park; a neighborhood deli and pizzeria, where neighbors gather; and a summer swim team at the pool You can walk to amazing restaurants like Barley Swine, Bufalina, Lick Ice Cream, El Chilito, and Little Deli."

"I think Brentwood is a unique neighborhood because it combines so many of the great qualities of Austin as a whole, without being overcrowded or trying too hard. It's hip, with great bars and restaurants, but also really family friendly, with nice parks, solid schools, and the children's museum nearby. It's grown a lot in the past five years or so, but is still on the edge of affordable. It's also just 10—15 minutes north of downtown, so you definitely still feel like part of the city."

"There's easy access to Burnet—and from there 183, 290, MoPac and IH-35. Easy!"

  • Amy C.
"I currently stay at home with my son, but before having him I had a 20-minute drive into downtown during rush hour. If my car was in the shop, I could ride the bus, though that added at least another 20 minutes to my commute. My husband works up north, so he travels against traffic coming into the city, so it's about a 15—20 minute drive for him."

"15—20 minutes on the highway (MoPac) to and from work in North Austin. I'm always against traffic, so it is pretty smooth."

"This is a really great place to raise kids. Nice parks, great local swim school in the neighborhood. The children's museum is very close by; lots to do with kids of all ages. Lots of family friendly restaurants. Good choice of preschools, solid public school options with lots of parent involvement. It's a safe, friendly place to live."

"I lived here for a couple years on Roosevelt Avenue. A dead end street with a neighborhood to match that feeling. Run down houses, traffic. This is the pits. "

"This location cannot be beat for quick access to downtown, University of Texas and central Austin shopping and amenities."

"Friendly neighbors, great location - never too far from anything in Austin. Tons of personality in this neighborhood. Brentwood Park is a great place to spend an afternoon. If you're considering moving to the area, visit the Crestview Mini Max and check out Little Deli, those two places and their patrons are the epitome of living here."
