This has to be the most god awful school when it comes to protecting students. Their JROTC program is trash, their principal lacks a backbone and won’t even try to follow district rules even when presented with them. Our daughter was chastised by the students after their homecoming dance and videos posted online were allowed to be distributed through the school and viewed over 63,000 times with no repercussions to any student involved. Even after confronting them about it they claimed they can’t prove it’s the student, even though I did the homework to back trace every tik tok to the creator (which were indeed the students). The JROTC program is run by the students who lack discipline and are not welcoming to any new coming students. We removed her from CISD completely and now reside in a school that actually teaches criteria and focuses on students but also has an active principal with morals and standards. Do yourself a favor and don’t enroll your child at this school, save their mental anguish if they are different in any way! Side note the nurses there are quite possibly the most genuine individuals there.

I remember when I first walked into McCullough Junior High. I was a wee little lad in a pretty damn big school. However, the school was quite a ways less scary than it seemed. The advantage of such a large middle school, the second largest in Texas to be exact, was that I could instantly find people I could connect with. The diversity is truly an underrated aspect, and I have met people from areas I have never even heard of before. When it comes to the quality of education, the teachers are second to none. The grades don't give this school justice, and the quality of education given here in honors and level courses provide a massive amount of support. Shout-out to Mrs. Driver, Mrs. Beineman, Coach Baird, and many more. When it comes to safety, the school staff are extremely competent. With it being such a large, diverse school in all aspects, fights are bound to happen. However, in the past years there has been a heavy decrease. Fighting is taken very seriously by school staff, and all fights are broken up nearly immediately. Any problem with this school is more due to managing its large size and not the management. 100% would recommend now that I am finishing up 8th grade.

Coulsen Tough is a wonderful, loving, and supportive school for children of all types. From gifted to kids who need extra help or special education, the teachers and staff here are capable, competent, responsive, fair, kind, and willing to help. They seem happy to come to work and the kids seem happy to be there. There are many opportunities but not pressure for parents to get involved.
