N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy five siblings and I went to this school from 1st through 6h grade (years ago) and I received a stellar education. I can speak, write and spell properly and those skills are very often overlooked at many schools nowadays. I made sure my daughter and son went to school here and would highly recommend it to parents who care about their children's education. The teachers are first rate and the principal, Mr. Estey, is an excellent human being. I have many friends who refuse to move out of Hooksett because the schools are so wonderful.Parent Review13y ago - Hooksett Memorial School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBeware to those who are considering placing their child within this district! Our son was transferred from an amazing community school in Manchester to what we thought was going to be an even better school district prior to our move to Hooksett. Ultimately we couldn't be so wrong! Not only has our experience in the school system been terrible, but also that of the actual "community " we moved to was as well. Since we are former military and accustomed to moving, we had little idea that this would ultimately seem the worst quality of life we have EVER experienced! Here is just a few scenarios that we have encountered in a two month period:•Lack of respect/understanding for religious beliefs by both students and staff (leaving room for discrimination, whether intentional or not)•Poor record keeping/ negligence on reporting and protocols (Federally and Statewide)•Bullying from peers/staff•Poor recess monitoring/understaffed •Poor resources for disabled children, naming guidelines for reporting, providing qualified personnel for special needs reporting, and lack of knowledge on protocols underlined per child find law•Poor training for educators who have children with disabilities in classrooms, or refusal to act accordingly •Administration ignorance for protocols on disciplinary for disabled children per IDEA/OCR•Communication from educators to parents•Terrible District leadership due to deliberate or just being so removed from the happenings etc.•Parental Safeguard consideration lacks•Lack of accountability/correction measures taken per Section 504, IDEA, and OCRDue to the above, we have lost full confidence in this school systems ability to provide FAPE for our disabled child and have begun seeking alternative options. We hope that all parents who have/suspects their child may have disabilities to seek additional information from sources like FERPA for public information on complaints and other public information before placing their child(ren) in such an environment.Had we fully done so, we would've been better educated as to what a proper placement for our child would be. We have learned such realities the hard way and hope our experience will help another in the future. Lastly, all parents should be aware that there are immunity laws that protect school districts from legal liability, thus creating many limitations for accountability.Parent Review4y ago - David R. "I have lived in this neighborhood for nearly a decade, and to be able to sit out on my front porch and watch the sunset over the river is amazing. My children and I can literally walk across the street and go fishing. There is various Wildlife you wouldn't find in the city, a dog park next to the courthouse, and a little corner store that a great many presidential hopefuls have stopped at over the years. It's a pretty nice place to live."
