7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJohnson is a fantastic school. The principal, Ms. Urso, (new to Johnson in 2012) is by far the BEST administrator we have encountered in Livonia schools. She is passionate about the kids getting a great education in a safe, caring environment and holds her teachers to a high standard. The teachers that our son has had are all great, including the 'specials' teachers for art, music, and PE. This school should be the benchmark for all schools in Livonia!Parent Review12y ago1 Reviews - Frost Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNEW REVIEW OF 2023-2024 YEARHi, I am a 7th grader it’s the end of the year. The fact that this school boasts about being good isn’t the truth. At least for the students that actually have issues that occur. You see, me and my friend were bullied at our lunch table for a while until we went and told the vice principal, but the school workers do not even care about keeping an eye on children at all. It’s very sad that some other kids don’t have courage to stand up for one another and keep things safe and good around the school. It’s almost like the school workers (not talking about TEACHERS, just principals and counselor and really the staff that’s in charge of keeping the school safe). They don’t care if a student has to sit alone at lunch every day for the rest of the school year because of a stupid change of schedule and they don’t even try to help. They all say “Oh, I’ll see what I can do.” But in reality they aren’t doing nothing. And if they have to do something with the culprits, or in this case the bullies, they just suspend them. You may think that’s “just enough”, but truly, even AFTER SUSPENDING, some kids do the same thing again. If your child has problems with bullies, or friends, or a schedule change, yes, the school will ACT like they will do something, but they will just “Oh, suspend them” or “Oh, I’ll see if I can do a schedule change even though I know really well that I won’t even try to,” your child will be in some kind of trouble. Now, if I’m talking academics, I’d like to say that it’s not too bad. Some kids just don’t care about their grade, which puts the school to shame. The music program is really great though, I’ve mastered two instruments thanks to the teachers there. Test scores as a student are in the middle, I don’t quite agree with the rating that almost everyone is succeeding, a lot of kids are falling behind. A sibling who was in the advanced program at Frost said that the teachers push the kids on things they felt they didn’t get a good grip on, or that they don’t really know much about.Students have to use lame websites and assignments, especially in math, and science, that are just boring and repetitive. It really makes me want to just skip school for the day and not do my homework, but of course I do it. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this school. Yes, without a doubt, there are some good teachers and students who really care about their grades, but overall, not the best for a school that boasts about it’s doing well.Student Review1y ago12 Reviews - Churchill High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf your kids are in sports... avoid at all costs. Our kids work very hard in sports their entire lives... only to have the sports program at CHS be rock bottom! Teens are actually retaliated against for expressing safety concerns to the AD and this is not okay. Trying to approach the person in charge of the high schools is fruitless and his secretary is a skilled gatekeeper. I have kicked myself in the buns so many times for not finding a way out of this school so many times. If you have an athlete... do yourself a favor and find a way out of this school. At all costs.Parent Review3mo ago7 Reviews - Check out schools near 13501 Levan Rd.

"Dog owners would like the quiet streets, sidewalks for walking, and nearby parks in Livonia. The neighborhood feels safe and generally pet-friendly, which makes daily walks enjoyable. However, some areas could use more dog waste stations, and not all neighbors pick up after their pets, which can be frustrating. Overall, it’s a good area for dog owners but could improve with better pet etiquette and a few more dedicated dog-friendly spaces."

"So many people walking dogs and are friendly. A lot of park areas to take your dog. There are no off-leash parks so that’s a drawback. There could easily be a half dozen and they would all get frequent visitors."

"We are retired. We are near the 96 / 275 free ways which makes it easy to get to pretty much anything, hospitals, dining, shopping, churches and social events. Livonia has been a wonderful place to raise a family. There are good police and fire departments, libraries and good people!"
