8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been so happy at Garfield! The curriculum and extra curriculars are broad and great, and the teachers are fantastic. He is pushed academically, and I'm confident in the education and opportunity he's receiving, in and out of the classroom. Take a look at the college placement, and you'll get an idea of how good Garfield is. In terms of safety, my son feels very safe in the school, and I'm confident they're addressing the issues surrounding the school.Parent Review8mo ago10 Reviews - Lowell Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur child had a bully one year and we were told by the principal once or twice incidents is not considered bullying. Our child expressed several times they didnt feel safe in the school and the principal and assistant principal did nothing and were very dismissing. The principal and staff admit and acknowledge safety failures but do nothing to address or communicate. They don't collaborate or listen but will tell you they are but provide no evidence to support any statement. My only advice is make sure you follow up in writing and get everything in writing. They will try and push you to in person and verbal only with any situation then drag everything along to not commit to what was spoken about. They avoid accountability at all costs and everything to put in the kid and anything but them. LISTEN TO YOUR KIDS when it comes to this school because the leadership in this school is toxic and it is trickling down into the teachers and staff. Several of us have had to pull our kids out of this school which is a shame due to all the connected resources at that school.Parent Review5mo ago9 Reviews - Edmonds S. Meany Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is my son's first year of middle school and I was uncertain how the transition from elementary school would go. Despite Meany being a large school my son seems to have adapted to the environment fairly seamlessly. The teachers seem committed and engaged and I can confidently say it has vastly exceeded my expectations. The level of academic rigor seems quite satisfactory, he's learning a lot, has made new friends and without exception they all seem to be great kids. I had a lot of angst about the start of middle school but it's been much more straightforward than I expected.Parent Review11mo ago1 Reviews - Check out schools near 1301 Spring St #5F-5F-5F.

"Not a lot of green space to walk your pup. It’s near one park that typically isn’t clean and has quite a few homeless people. I wouldn’t walk my dog there. "

"Area is busy and street traffic may be dangerous on busier streets. Homeless population may be an issue near the freeway "

"There a lot of bars, restaurants and shops. Something for everyone. It’s changed a lot over the years and gotten a lot cleaner but that’s to be expected. There are still some really great places. "

"Busy area nowhere to really park. Lots of public transportation to get around the area. Not sure about the crime I stay to myself. "

"Not a good place for kids to thrive. Is extremely expensive to live. If you have a car, you will get ticketed parking in your own neighborhood. Even if you have a permit it doesn't matter, the city sells more permits than there a spaced to park and you end up getting ticketed and towed. There is construction going on all the time and the streets are tore up."

"Not friendly or a place where you will be happy. Meeting people is unrealistic here. Most people keep to themselves and then there's the rain and clouds. Very depressing."

"Streets are never empty. There is always someone out. No matter the day or night. The south side has a lot of hospitals and north Capitol Hill is more residential "

"Lots of bars and places to eat. Great place for students or people who like noise and have fun. In Capitol Hill not as many as in Downtown homeless people but still plenty. Near main roads very noisy."

"There are not many kids in the neighborhood and the public school is very poorly rated. Not a lot of great parks for young children. "

"I like it when the RedHawks have games. We don’t keep up with any of the schedules, but during this season, as we walk our dog, we always see practices or something going on, and always stop to watch games."

"This area is good for people who prefer walking to work. The restaurants are okay, but Capitol Hill has more amenities. "

"I have no opinion. I do not have a dog, but there are several nearby dog friendly parks. Owners can easily walk their dogs, and many apartments are dog friendly here."

"it's the people that make it special not the events. people here come together when someone needs help and people actually greet you in the sidewalk when you walk by."

"I've lived in this neighborhood for 5 years and been fortunate to watch it grow in that time. Lovingly (or not so) referred to as Pill Hill for years because of the hospitals, First Hill has begun to reinvent itself as an actual place to live. Walking distance from Downtown, Capitol Hill, Central District, the International District, and one bus away from the whole world. There's the streetcar on Broadway. Walking distance to the Hideout, Quarter Lounge, Vitos, Sugar Bakery, a 24 hour gym, Stockbox Grocers, Frye Art Museum, Lotus Vietnamese, 206 Burger Co, Georges Deli, and Italian Family Pizza. The First Hill Improvement Association has really helped this place form it's own identity, and it's wonderful."

"Very safe area as there is good security patrol from local hospitals all night long. You can literally walk your dog at 3:00am and feel safe."

"I work in the area. I love being so close to Seattle University. Lots of new buildings purchased by Seattle University that is adding lots of value to the area. Young and frendly. Pet friendly everywhere. Close to the finest restaurants like Spinasse $$$, Lark $$$, La Spiga, Gyms, Yoga, five minutes on a taxi cab to Downtown Seattle, or 20 minute walk. Very safe. lots of young families and kids. Parks around the University let you mingle with students. Little traffic, clean and easy public transportation!!!!!"
