Perfect for nature lovers, we are looking for a tenant/caretaker who loves open spaces, a rustic setting, and amazing views; but can also deal with wildlife on the property and 1.5 miles of county-maintained dirt fire road to get down to town, about a 10 minute drive to "civilization" (i.e downtown Monrovia).The house was featured in the LA Times when it was built in 1947, and has been in our family since the mid-1980's. It is 1900 square feet with two large bedrooms and 1 3/4 baths. It has the feel of a hunting lodge, with hand-hewn beam ceiling, a massive flagstone fireplace, wagon wheel window, and numerous other architectural features. The kitchen is updated, and there is a raised deck in front. The view from the deck is spectacular, from Pasadena to Catalina to San Jacinto. There is a detached garage which has been converted into an office/studio, a perfect location for a photographer, writer, or artist.Water is provided, gravity fed, from a private spring nearby. Despite the secluded location, the house has all modern amenities - high speed internet, cable tv, central heat and AC. All other utilities and services (electricity, phone, trash) are provided by regular Monrovia suppliers. This is our former family home and we are looking for someone who will take care of it like their own, in return for the discounted rent of $1995 per month.
