10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible disappointment. I'm an educator and almost immediately knew we were going to have problems. The attitude at CHS is pretty black and white: Teachers teach and the onus of learning is on the kids and their households. They also teach to a very specific population of their classes so if you don't "get it," you're on your own. My son was tested as GATE in elementary school and is 100% disengaged here, primarily in Math and Science courses. We used to have a fairly responsive counselor who was our only lifeline with communicating our concerns to teachers and admin but this year we were assigned a new counselor and she is unresponsive. There is zero relationship building between households and the school. Teaching and pedagogical practices are also very antiquated. It's almost as though teachers teach to those who already understand the content but if you need some additional instruction and much more charisma from the teacher, this is not the place for you. We've already spent hundreds of dollars on outside tutoring support and our son is only a 10th grader. We're looking into transferring. The teachers are usually understanding when it comes to personal situations that come in the way of school. I’ve had two brothers go here as well, overall their experience with Tetzlaff was good. However, teachers were most of their problems. Some schoolwork and homework is too stressful. I think teachers should try harder to explain more.Student Review3y ago

"It’s a great place. Very multicultural and amazing restaurants in this area. It’s the ice cream and boba tea capital as far as I am concerned. A really nice place. The 4th of July festivities are awesome!!!"

"feeling safe to walk your dog in the hours before 6pm after 6 in some spots of the city it can be a bit dangerous. as most cities pets (dogs and cats) must be vaccinated and registered at the city hall if not u run the risk of geting a fine and or ur pet taken away by animal control."

"our community has plenty of events year round, with the help of the neighborhood park, we have a christmas event, cinco de mayo and relegious events like the posadas held on december and a large celebration for virgin mary, aswell as fundraiser for community events."

"Nice place for adults and old age people only but not so good for family with little kids. Old residents call them a part of management and doesn't even let the kids play out for five minutes. They expects kids to act like an adult. Hard to go to swimming with kids as well. At least I am happy now that I moved out. My kids can play enough.. "
