3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf I could rate Suitland HS with zero stars, I would. 2 of my daughters attended Suitland, at different times, and they both had horrible experiences there. I constantly had to deal with being told what "these kids" do, while discussing my children. The staff lacks professionalism, compassion, and concern. Everything going on in the school is based on discipline and punishment. They are not there supporting the kids as they should be. It almost comes off like they're expecting the children to fail or setting them up to fail. Both of my daughters took nothing good away from their high school experience at Suitland. What ever efforts that have been made to make it at least a functional school are thwarted by students and parent who have no real value of education. The administration has put up a good effort but know they are in a losing battle. It's really sad when you have to say a large part of the falure of this school is due to the people it trys to serves. community blame not the educators blame your self. To many of your kids are not there to learn and you know it. Yet you blame the educators . "I live in Peppermill Village (Capitol Heights). What makes Peppermill unique is the community park & trail, neighbors are welcoming, and a sense of community. Although, I have lived here for less than year and a half. I'm very pleased to have moved from Northern Virginia to this community."
