7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter loves it. We are a military family, and have moved around a lot. She has attended schools in Washington, Ohio, Georgia, and Alabama. This is her favorite school so far, she seems to be doing great, and learning as well.Other Review7y ago - Danville High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDanville High School has very little prep for college or any form of real-world learning, underfunded extracurricular activities, and loads of bullying against students who are outside the norm, both from other students and staff. I was a student with somewhat invisible learning disabilities, and the bullying for that only stopped after those disabilities were made very public; After that, I was just ignored and isolated, because nobody wanted to be the one who would bully the handicapped kid. Most students absolutely despised the learning environment, actively refusing to do their work at times, but were given a free pass if they were popular or played a sport; This is the only reason the school has a >90% graduation rate. Many teachers had little to no control of their classrooms during lessons. The administration is very biased, inconsistent about rules, and simply out of touch with the student body. Parents had little to no influence on their child's learning environment, with the best most of them got being an occasional optional parent-teacher conference where they just spend a lot of time saying nothing. Some teachers particularly disliked certain groups or would take an almost sadistic pleasure in punishing students. Group punishment was extremely common for no reason other than it being easier to do than punishing individuals, even if they were repeat-offenders who never got dealt with. The singular highlight is a few passionate teachers who did seem to genuinely care for their students, but they are the exception, not the rule; they're surrounded by coach-teacher hybrids who will do nothing for half a semester because they're more interested in training a football team that wins two games a year at best. If you are uninterested in sports, there's no reason at all to go here. Even if you are, go someplace with better teachers, better coaches, and a better student body. If you don't have another option for a school to go to, homeschool instead; I wish I had done that myself in retrospect. Avoid Danville High School at all costs.Other Review1y ago - Check out schools near 12 Stephenson Rd.

" Definitely small town USA! Shop's & Diner's are on "Main Street", in really cool buildings that were built here 100+years ago and are either still ran by the same family name, or someone that was like family or someone that's bringing in business that's wanting to start that family kinda tradition! Good people! Great place ro raise kids! Safe & Familiar atmosphere. Baseball & SEC football is a religion, and Everyone is in church praising our Lord & Savior on Sundays!! "

"I like a small, close knit neighborhood where everyone looks out for everyone. A neighborhood where crime rate is low and the sense of home is high. Not a rich neighborhood but not a neighborhood of poverty either. I want to live in a neighborhood where kids can go outside and be kids without fear of harm."
