Description

Charming, updated two bedroom, two bath condo in Eckington available for rent. Minimum 1 year lease beginning September 5, $2600/month + 1 month's rent as deposit. (There is a chance the unit will be available starting Sept 1.) Gas/Electricity costs average $115/month, water and garbage pickup costs included in rent. Washer/dryer in-unit. Central AC and heat.

The apartment is on the second story of a 1908 row house that was updated in 2011, a perfect combination of vintage charm and modern convenience. The building has beautiful windows on three sides, including southern facing ones in the living room, making it unusually well-lit for a DC rowhouse. There are hardwood floors throughout, except in the bathrooms which have tile. The apartment is really quiet despite being centrally located near North Capitol St.

Both bedrooms are big enough for queen or king beds and have ceiling fans, large closets, and two large windows. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet with an Elfa organization system (the kitchen also has Elfa storage in the lower cupboards). The master bath has a glass brick window and a walk-in shower--it's an amazing place to start the day. There is a balcony off the master bedroom with string lights and an outdoor fan to help beat the heat and keep away the bugs--a perfect spot to enjoy a drink in the summer! You can grow (shade tolerant) plants on the deck and I've had luck with herbs as well.

The neighborhood has everything you need--parks, a pool, restaurants, cafes, dry cleaning, bars, and groceries all nearby. This apartment is a great place to relax and explore some of NE DC's best neighborhoods: Eckington, Bloomingdale, and Brookland.

"Just visiting my kids and like the neighborhood. Wish there was a large grocery store closer to the neighborhood. Not very convenient if you need something quick."
  • Architect4464
"Lots of young new families moving in and growing in Eckington, great future developments coming (Bryant Street, Eckington Yards), close to Met Branch and Bloomingdale restaurants."
  • Trulia User

  • Simplyhousing
"Excellent location for getting to all quadrants within 20 minutes or less. Convenient to bus, metro rail, car share, bike share, you name it, it can be found here. Service is also readily available at all hours here unlike some communities that become a ghost town after 9pm. "
  • Andy M.
"It is very pet friendly. Virtually all my neighbors including myself have cats and dogs."
  • Andy M.
"Eckington is among the many up and coming areas in DC. Eckington is unique because it has corners reaching each general city setting with commerce, warehouses, housing, and metro stations that run right through it. What makes it stand out is that it maintains a neighborhood feel without jeopardizing the city aspect of DC life."
  • Andy M.
"Easy commute -- it's within 15 min of virtually any destination in DC. I always take advantage of the metro station or super affordable ride sharing services. Although buses do run throughout the neighborhood, I have never used it."
  • Andy M.
"A lot of great families here looking for the same thing. Convenience, affordability, and above all safety."
  • Keaerra W.
"It’s like living in a suburb surrounded by the city. It’s quiet when it needs to be but has just enough going on."
  • Ed
"I have lived in Eckington for 4 years now and have send a wonderful transition of real estate improvements, great neighbors and huge reduction in crime , littering and vagrancy. What a wonderful change from the hard hit community of the 90's. Close to a thriving NoMA, H St. and U St. entertainment corridors!"
