Another student threatened to kill my daughter in an outburst shortly after physically attacking another student. Other students went to the office to report the threat, and when I called the school they said “well she hasn’t done this before so we are talking to her about it.” Come to find out they only suspended this girl for 2 days. The student continued her threats via social media, and when I reported this the principal said “I told her parents and showed them the posts you showed us, and she is in trouble with them.” So my daughter had another year with this misbehaved individual glaring at her and talking bad about my daughter. Then when my daughters grades began to slip in two classes at the end of the year they neglected to CALL me which I would think they’d see the grades falling and care enough to reach out but they don’t care at all. So my daughters grades was not allowed to walk at the 8th grade promotion because of two F’s. I called and asked if they could please give her some extra credit or some other way to bring her two grades up and the principal said no. I asked why it’s ok to allow a future serial killer to walk, and they couldn’t help my child to be able to and the principal pretended to not know of the threat incident all of a sudden, and told me to call the superintendent. I called him and he said that it’s up to the principal on how to handle it. This is only two of many issues with this school we faced. I’ve had two kids go through this school now and I have known of multiple acts of violence that only were punished with a few days suspension. One of those incidents left another child with a brain injury making him unable to return for the year. This school sucks bad!! It did even when I went there!

This school is amazing!! Stellar teachers that truly care and a community that backs them! Immense amount of parent involvement on top of small class sizes makes sure no kid is left behind and they’re getting an excellent education. We moved her last summer coming from a private school out of state. First, I look to the local private school, but wasn’t impressed. I then started hearing so many rave reviews about Cottage Hill I had my three kids district transferred here and am so glad I did! This school has a very kind, safe, welcoming atmosphere and my kids love it!! I hear so many great reviews but for some reason no one post reviews in this small community, so I think it’s time I give a positive shout out :) Thank you to all the staff and volunteers, we appreciate you!!

Genuinely horrible school there are some good teachers but the whole school operates horribly they dont even know how to run a school well and ive had little to no support they say they are gonna do something but they dont there is a teacher who somehow isnt fired that shows up to her class late everyday uses ai for her lessons and slideshows and is straight up sexist
