The teachers, staff and administrators are amazing. They care about the students and hold them accountable. My children have been very happy here and receive a quality education.

As a concerned parent, I feel the need to speak up about some troubling experiences my child has had at this school. It often feels like the students are in charge, and the lack of consistent discipline is deeply concerning.In third grade, my child's classmate was bitten by another student—so severely that it drew blood. To my knowledge, no meaningful consequences were given to the student responsible. As a parent, that’s incredibly upsetting, and it has made me question how seriously student safety is taken here.I’m also troubled by the way discipline and rewards are handled. From what I’ve heard, students who misbehave are sometimes rewarded with things like pizza parties if they manage to behave for a short period of time. My child, who consistently follows the rules and works hard, rarely gets acknowledged or rewarded. It feels like the system is upside down—rewarding bad behavior while overlooking the students who quietly do what’s expected.I’ve also learned that the “behavior room,” meant for students who are struggling with conduct, is more like a playroom. This sends the wrong message, and unfortunately, it's becoming a place students want to go, not a consequence to avoid.I wish we had the option to send our child to Asotin, where I hear there is a stronger sense of structure and academic focus. It’s disheartening to feel like our school district is not holding itself to the standard our children deserve. I want better—not just for my child, but for every student in this community.
