"Block party’s and great neighbors. Super friendly and incredibly hospitable where we live. I love the weather and the commuting on the ferry is awesome"
  • Ryan G.
"Currently there are many explosions in fireworks and the neighborhood that echo through the night. I am sure that most animals are pretty scared although our cats seemed just fine with it"
  • Lydia
"Friendly neighbors, however not much to do activities for parents with babies/kids. There’s no malls here in the city or great restaurants. You have general grocery stores but nothing special that stands out. Vallejo has so much potential, just taking a long time for them to grow or change it for the better."
  • Jezzimorgan
"My neighborhood is close to the Highway. There are stores, banks and restraunts within walking distance. Our neighborhood is very active. People are always walking with and without dogs. This is the friendliest area I have ever lived in."
  • Debbie P.
"We have block party’s and every forth of July we block the entire street off and have party’s out in the street"
  • Dani Y.
"Cheap housing, but crime is high. People run red lights all the time. A guy got stabbed a couple blocks away from my house. I always hear police sirens. "
  • Yvette N.
"There is no bart across drowning on what time you need. And there’s the daily bridge toll. Gas prices are cheaper than others but that may be the only plus side"
  • Joycecunningham57
"unless you have a yard for your dog i wouldn't really recommend it. cars drive really fast through the neighborhood ."
  • Azalia M.
"There is a weekly Saturday Farmers Market, where other community events also happen. There is also 4th July Parade, Cops and Coffee events, and the Mad Hatter Parade. There are event of one kind or another at the waterfront most weekends. "
  • Ashley B.
"I am centrally located to freeways, grocery stores, gas stations and family parks. There is a short 40 minute drive to the city and Vacaville outlets. "
  • Jbjacquot
"We just moved a year ago to Vallejo and LOVE it! Our neighbors are very friendly (they always say hi and often stop to chat, they bring our garbage cans back when we forget, they watch our pets when we’re on vacation etc) and everyone takes good care of their houses and yards. We used to live in San Francisco and know that Vallejo has a bad rap but I think the sketchy parts are really only limited to small areas (we don’t even know which ones are not good, we haven’t seen any areas that are that bad and it’s definitely way better than so many areas in San Francisco, like the Mission and the Tenderloin!) We’re in our late twenties and love the proximity to Napa to go wine tasting with friends. The weather is out of this world, it’s pretty much always sunny, warmer than San Francisco but a lot less hot during Summer than the East Bay or Napa. Plants grow very well thanks to this weather (we have fruits trees and just planted a ton of vegetables, which are doing amazing). All in all, we love Vallejo because of its diversity and community, weather, proximity to wine country and to San Francisco, and so many more reasons. We couldn’t have found a better place to live and believe that Vallejo is a hidden gem of Northern California. Not surprising why it was so hard to find a house here and that prices keep going up! Hope this helps anyone considering to move to Vallejo! :)"
  • Lyallabbott
"mix of people older people some younger people middle class and poor people and a few very very poor people. close to fire station and hospital so very noisy when sirens are blaring which seems non stop say and night all day all week all month and year long "
  • Mallory W.
"Historical homes, tree lined streets, friendly neighbors, parks and freeway access. There is the ferry for easy access to San Francisco. There is hiking, open space, kayaking, Six Flags, golf, fishing, kite flying, and paragliding close by. "
