I sent my children to this school from 1st grade all the way to 5th and is severely disappointed. My kids where victims of bullying from students and even a 4th grade teacher. When reported to the admin, they did not bat an eye. They basically ignored it and told my kids to figure it out themselves rather then helping them figure it out. My children are now in high school and are severely behind in math because of them being sent to a “special help class” called learning lab which brought them back to 1st grade Level math at the age of 10. They basically re-taught things they already had down instead of helping them understand the things they where learning. The bullying was ignored and the diversity was horrible. Causing sever racism for the children of color. I am beyond disappointed with this school and some of the staff members. My eldest was so badly bullied he had to transfer classes and my child was still to blame because the boy who was bullying my son had connections to the principal and other admins because his mother worked at the school. This school is not fair to kids who don’t fit a certain criteria.

This school is situated in an upscale neighborhood, which creates an appealing environment. However, most students do not reside in Coronado, and there are ongoing concerns regarding student behavior, including daily instances of drug use in restrooms. Additionally, the school has faced disciplinary actions, such as being banned from Disneyland for senior students due to inappropriate conduct. Bullying remains a significant issue within the school community, and unfortunately, staff members often provide limited support to students and parents. Instead of offering constructive assistance, there is a tendency to place blame on students, despite the expectation that staff should be proactive in monitoring and addressing these concerns.

Collaborating with parents is left to administration. Teachers are discouraged from sharing real information. Principal Falar would rather see kids sit doing nothing, than teachers try. She takes on no problems to avoid causing ripples with district expectations. Her days are spent behind glass, in her office, doing the work she doesn’t want to overflow into her personal life. Students run past her laughing, when she’s in the quad of the campusstanding around making zero connections. She dresses up well, that’s the most notable about the principal.
