Coronado Middle School and the Coronado Unified School District is one of the best in the County of San Diego and State. The teachers and administrators go above and beyond to ensure the students have a positive academic experience and thrive socially, mentally, physically and academically. Incredib
Posted by a parent on 8/18/2026Coronado has so many issues with bullying and racism, but the school administration just continually pretends as though nothing is going on, even to the point of telling the students not to say anything; because they don’t want it to get out that a school in Coronado has issues instead of addressing
Posted by a parent on 4/14/2026Collaborating with parents is left to administration. Teachers are discouraged from sharing real information. Principal Falar would rather see kids sit doing nothing, than teachers try. She takes on no problems to avoid causing ripples with district expectations. Her days are spent behind glass, in

Teachers go out of their way to help students and the content of academics is challenging. Good sports and other club activities. Worth the cost of living in Coronado just to get into this school.
Posted by a parent on 8/27/2023Overall, this school is very good. There are small problems such as strange grading systems and not punishing bullies occasionally, but the teaching is incredible. As a student, I believe that I have learned a lot here, and whenever I get into academic trouble the teachers are always there to help m

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am very happy with this school. The education and support my child has received are truly one of a kind. The friends he has made will be lifelong, and the lessons on respect and caring for each other as humans are values that society needs now more than ever. The teachers are amazing they genuinely care for our kids and want the best for them. The only areas where the school could improve are in sports, clubs, and having a cafeteria.Parent Review10mo ago - Sacred Heart Parish School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI cannot say enough about how special this school is. We have been at CTCS since Kindergarten and currently are in the 5th grade class (2026). The important differences this school provides that goes above and beyond is every teacher knows every kid at the school. The classes are small and there is so much individualized care, and attention poured into the kids. The children are given a valuable education and even more special is the teaching staff provides strong lessons in kindness, love, and nurturing. CTCS has an OUTSTANDING music and arts program. This school is special and it has everything to do with the staff. Our alumni have gone on to do great things. I highly recommend a tour. CTCS provides scholarships too. The staff will take great care of you!Parent Review1mo ago
