During my time at SHS I found myself surrounded by supportive and caring people who truly wanted to make a difference. After reading other comments left people who had different feelings about Sullivan High School it became very clear to me that your high school experience is truly what you make it. If you decide to be a motivated student who comes to class each day ready to learn, you will be met with people who will help you to do just that. Sullivan High allows students to get college credit while still in high school. Students are able to do this through AP and duel credit class; and now they even offer an early college program that allows students to take classes at the local community college and allows them to graduate with both their high school diploma and an associates degree . While I was a student at SHS I immersed myself in any AP and duel credit class that I could because I knew that I wanted to go to college, and by doing so I was able to graduate high school with a year of college out of the way and then continue on to graduate Cum Laude from my from my four year school, from which I was able to graduate a year early. If your student feels that college is not the way for them and a job in a vocational field is more their style then SHS also partners with the Four Rivers school and busses students over to that facility so the are able obtain that non traditional education as well. If your student puts in the effort, SHS is a great school that enables students to succeed each and every day. Of course their are cons to every school and I am sure that Sullivan High has plenty of them, but in my personal experience it was a great school with amazing faculty and staff that made me want to go to school every day.
