"This neighborhood has the historic character and cozy vibe with close proximity to the sand and water. It’s a residential feel with locals active outside in soccer, sand volleyball, fishing, walking/running, biking or just hammocking….people make eye contact and say hello and smile! "
  • Brandon Fate
"Old Northeast is a top neighborhood in St. Pete. I’ve lived here for almost 3 years and have loved it."
  • Casalpert
"There are always people walking dogs & even cars in the neighborhood. The parks are dog friendly all along the waterfront. Beautiful area to walk your dog. "
  • Casalpert
"It’s a lovely waterfront walk to downtown from the Old Northeast neighborhood. Very walkable area with public transportation around. Easy drive to 275."
  • Mary Clark
"Halloween on 17th and 18th ave ne is so busy and the houses go all out! It’s perfect for kids and families. "
  • Traceyimpact
"Easy. Accessible Pleasant. Safe streets. I often work at home not congested. Or dangerous. "
  • Casalpert
"Old Northeast in St Pete is an amazing area with porch parties & beautiful historic homes. The people are great, the streets are quiet yet you are walking distance from downtown with great restaurants & bars. "
  • Cokepaw
"Big front porches, a wonderful homeowner’s association, lots of neighborhood events, nice people, lots of puppies Historic Old Northeast is a beautiful old fashioned neighborly place. "
  • Cokepaw
"We have a wonderful Holiday tour of homes, Monthly porch parties for all neighbors, Easter Egg hunt for kids, a Garden tour of homes, 4th of July neighborhood parade and celebration and an epic celebration of Halloween. These are public displays of affection by neighbors for neighbors and the community but beyond that it’s just the most welcoming and inclusive community. "
  • Trulia User
"Lots of dog parents live in this neighborhood, lots of shaded sidewalks, parks nearby including a dog park to take your pups. I love this neighborhood . Very dog friendly "
  • Trulia User
"This is a pretty and nice neighborhood. People are friendly. You can take a golf cart to shops and the fun downtown St Pete scene. "
  • Trulia User
"Love the amount of dogs here. Dog owners aren’t the friendliest. People do usually pick up after themselves. "
  • Nanette D.
"Extremely safe a family oriented neighborhood . Anyone who loves in the area has a familiar face. No one drives fast through the neighborhood "
  • Janet A.
"I've lived in this neighborhood for 33 years, and it's a wonderful place to live with lots of trees, families, dogs oh, and more. It's a 5-minute walk to the waterfront parks, and a 10 minute walk to downtown, with restaurants, museums, the new pier and lots of shops."
  • Makaela F.
"There are many other dog lovers in the area. Most dog leash their dogs. There’s a lady who has a really old lab who walks without a leash but so well behaved. Definitely recommend for dog owners. "
  • Rwillpowersb
"Next to downtown and lots of great places to eat and drink. Also, many beautiful parks, entertainment, museums, and dog parks."
  • Jennabw
"Best location to St. Pete highlights- downtown, the bay, Central, art, fairs, museums, restaurants, and every convenience."
  • Lauren M.
"There’s no parking or yard space! it’s also flood evacuation zone A. If you have kids and a dog, I wouldn’t recommend buying anywhere in a flood zone. Google pinellas county evacuation zones- you will see parts of st Pete where property is available to purchase outside of the flood zones. These are located on the disston ridge, which is a much better investment in property considering the risk of sea level rise we are facing over the next several decades as you raise your family."
  • Rwillpowersb
"You can walk to downtown, several parks and a beach and a public pool. Best area of the city, safe and neighbors are friendly. "
  • Trulia User
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for six years, it’s incredible! One can walk downtown to restaurants, bars, nightlife, to the bay, and all the parks, to the pool, the movies. Nearly everything you’d want to do here is easily walkable!"
  • Elyherman
"Short walk to downtown. Easy drive alternatively. Best commute I’ve ever had. Another alternative is my home office in the pool cottage ..."
  • Elyherman
"Terrific safe neighborhood for kids. Tree lined streets with sidewalks and people drive slowly through the neighborhood, partly because of the speed limit but also because the brick streets (beautiful) slow people down. Easy commute to Shorecrest Prep. Close to the parks on the bay (beach, tennis, pool, ball fields) and Crescent Lake on the other side of 4th St. All this and is isn’t the ‘burbs, but rather a cool urban community with diversity. "
  • G P.
"It is the BEST neighborhood in the country. Feels like 1950’s America with the community feel and front porch life. "
