"Minden is located between the Tahoe mountains and large cattle ranches. You can sit in your backyard and listen to the cows moo"
  • Lefthandedpitcher
"New dog park on Stephanie heard it was really good! Living on Johnson there is not a sidewalk or neighborhood really to walk dogs just through trails and such which is also awesome. "
  • Duwinde
"Very animal friendly, but be warned, at night this neighborhood belongs to the coyotes. I often fall asleep listening to them howl."
  • Martha H.
"unless you're a senior who have home pick up bus runs just for them, you need a vehicle to get around, even a bike would work."
  • Susie B.C.
"Dogs need a dog park to run and play and meet other dogs. Great place for dog owners to get acquainted too. DUH. "
  • Duwinde
"Very dog friendly, people are always walking dogs all day long. There hasn’t been any dog attacks though, they are all very good dog owners. Not a lot of dog barking at night either, but plenty of coyote howling."
  • Podwall
"It’s great for retirees and is very affordable. There is plenty of shopping and recreational activities."
  • Zoeyspet1069
"I e lived here for over 20 years and I live it. Raised kids here, owned a business here, and it’s a wonderful place to live!"
  • Duwinde
"My neighborhood is mostly older couples and families, everyone is friendly, a few are a bit busy-bodyish, but we don’t do any neighborhood events. Most people are very private."
  • Duwinde
"Safe area, except for scorpions, rattlers and at night coyotes. The coyotes will steal pets that are left out at night. Cats will help keep the scorpions from infesting your home. Expensive homes, mostly older folk, and families. "
  • Papercupcastles
"neighbors are more likely to call the pound then to talk to you in person. Not a very dog friendly place if the neighbors are from out of state. "
  • Tracy N.
"Open large yards and mostly well maintained properties. Close to federal open space. Love having farm animals nearby - morning rooster crows!"
  • m_ramsey
"Quiet, clean, crime free neighborhood. Close to major shopping and entertainment."
  • Darajones84
"Within walking distance of 2 parks and the elementary school. Great area for kids as the is hardly any traffic and is quiet. Hiking and dirt bike trails only minutes away. Nice clean neighborhood with friendly people!"
  • Van
"The views are lovely, the neighborhood is quiet and very safe. There are ample outdoor recreation events, and traffic is not bad at all. The area is very walkable except there isn't anything to walk to -- i.e. walking for exercise = excellent, whereas waling to get a quart of milk or cup of joe = ain't gonna happen. The downside is that the nearest stores, restaurants, etc are a minimum 18-20 mile round trip, and the neighborhood is full of California ex-pats who look down on the locals and don't get involved with the local events except to complain about them.
