About this House

This home, completely gutted & renovated just 4 years ago, is simply like no other. It is a home where awe-inspiring artistry, exquisite building materials and finishes, an idyllic floor plan, and captivating spaces blend to create a simply "jaw-dropping" home. It is located in Indian Hills Estates, one of the most sought after, picturesque (due to the deep set-backs and buried utility lines) and family-friendly neighborhoods on the Northshore. The Chef's Kitchen/Great Room area is the hub of the home and overlooks, with its expanse of windows, the covered bluestone front porch and patio and colorfully lush front lawn. The "like no other" kitchen boasts custom cabinetry, high-end appliances (think La Cornue range), a hand-built range hood, and a dynamite 10' island (with an astonishing single-piece of quartzite) which is the focal point of this extraordinary space. The hand-selected and large plank French oak floors taken from farmhouses in France and the beamed ceilings reclaimed from local farms give this magazine-worthy home a stylistic flair unseen anywhere else. And the dining room, with its vaulted & beamed ceiling, boasts herringbone floors which are indeed a piece of art work. The magical qualities of this home go on and on. Completing the first floors is a casual, yet elegant front foyer, an entertainment-sized family room which looks out to the rear lawn, a large mudroom, and a delightful powder room. The second floor includes a master suite with his and her closets, as well as two other large bedrooms and full bath. Additional space on the 2nd level is available to create a custom guest suite down the line if wanted (plans are available). Finally, the finished walk-out lower level provides a terrific recreation room and plenty of space for storage, exercise equipment, and workshop, etc. The backyard of this incredible home is a tranquil, country-like oasis filled with mature trees and all the privacy one is looking for. The expansive lawn (certainly large enough for a pool if desired) with the lovely bluestone patio, the large & inviting fire pit, and the gorgeous plantings intricately and artfully woven through all of this green space is indeed wondrous. It is hard to believe that this peaceful respite is only 20 minutes to the city, blocks to top schools, fine dining & shops, and two quick miles to Wilmette's Gillson beach - undoubtedly the nicest spot on the North Shore to enjoy Lake Michigan and all the fun, beauty, and relaxation that it provides. Also enjoy the 4-year old roof, mechanicals, pro-line Pella windows, 2 fireplaces, custom indoor & outdoor Sonos sound system, high-end building materials, dual tankless water heaters, all-copper plumbing, 2-car attached garage, and more.

  • A.e.wolff
"Family environment. Summer beach nights. Open spaces and parks. Amazing schools with good progression. "
  • Aaron Walter
"Lots of other dogs in the neighborhood. Most everyone cleans up after their pets. The sidewalks are great for long walks. Lots of open spaces to play."
  • Hyun Y.
"V affluent area with diversity. Great school system, safe and clean. Can’t complain. Very kids friendly"
  • Smithp78
"Easy to commute to downtown via Metra. Not always easy to find parking at Metra after 7:15. A lot of people walk. Possible to drive downtown but takes up to 90 minutes in morning rush. "
  • Shannon J.
"People are extremely welcoming and friendly. We moved here a few months ago, and have never felt so immediately at home in a community!"
  • Iltonz
"I see people walking their dogs all the time, and they seemed happy! There are great parks and green areas for dogs in general."
  • Cheryl
"Lots of responsible dog owners walking their dogs in this area. People pick up after their dogs. Xxxxxxxxx"
  • Iam.pethcha

  • Jujujuice
"Lots of families. It’s a real community feel and people are very neighborly. And of course, great schools!"
  • Teresa
"Clean & wide sidewalks, many parks, fenced in dog beach plus another dog park. Many people own dogs & walk them several times a day. "
  • Zean N.
"It’s an amazing place to raise a family. Clean. Safe. Great schools. Close to the lake. Close to Chicago but far enough away to have a small town community feel. "
  • Miriam H
"Having a CTA station within a mile from our house makes the commute to Chicago doable. Depending on the day driving to and from the city during rush hour using Lakeshore or 94 is a hassle..."
  • Adroaras
"Certain parks are closed to dogs, but overall this is a dog friendly neighborhood. Also most of the parks have a poop bag station."
  • Satish Kumar
"very diverse demographics than past years! vibrant community, great facilities, amazing schools and school staff."
  • Teresa K.
"Great. All back roads to NU. never have to get on the free way. Only mild back UPS on Greenbay avenue during rush hour. There are lots of schools along the way which can slow you down due to buses and speed zones but that is the least of my worries "
  • Charles A.
"There are plenty of sidewalks and parks in the area. The only problem is there are no legal off leash parks within walking distance. "
  • Masahito J.
"Great schools, safe neighborhood, kids ride their bikes everywhere worry-free. Shops within walking distance. Great beach. Close to Chicago. "
  • Teresa K.
"very safe and very well maintained. prices are okay compared to our neighbors in Evanston. some neighborhoods, the houses all look the same but I enjoy the older neighborhoods where the homes have lots of old charm and character "
  • Keassouad
"Lake with beach, schools, access, community, restaurants, athletics, space to play transportation and character. "
  • Castle117
"I grew up here. Great forest preserve bike trails, the beach, pool clubhouse, and an excellent school district. "
  • cdtangney
"I have lived on and off in Wilmette for 30+ years. Grew up here. Eventually moved back here to raise my own family. Its one of the safest places in the country. The schools are excellent. The parks are beautiful, clean and have updated equipment. The Park District, With all that it has to offer for kids and adults, is incredible. The people are actively involved throughout the neighborhood. There are a few new dining and nightlife venues that are helping to make Wilmette all inclusive. Access to a great pool facility and one of the best beaches on the North shore just make it for this area. I highly recommend Wilmette to any young couple getting started, to anyone wanting to raise a family and to those looking to finish out their lives filled with quiet beauty in a safe place."
  • cg
"Have lived here for 10 years. The schools are superb and the people are like people anywhere. Some are nice and some are snotty but you can ignore them. Its great for the things that matter. Traffic getting into Chicago is usually bad but the Metra train is great."
  • conceptking
"Walking distance to everything - CTA, Metra, Parks, Beach, shopping in Wilmette and Evanston Central St. area. And a short drive to Sheridan Road/LSD and i-94.Phenomenal for families of all ages with nationally recognized and award winning schools. A fantastic and safe neighborhood and a hidden gem that borders Evanston. If there's a house that's within your budget range, make an offer - you will not be disappointed. "
  • lindamcz123
"I used to live in this community years ago and loved every day. There are two malls within walking distance. A couple of bus lines that can take you the the downtown train. Excellent expressway access going both north or south. The Park district is right across the street with an amazing Gym, child care and much, much more. LOVE Wilmette, and this area of it."
