3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHave 2 kids nearly complete their entire elementary school time here and really feel it doesn't deserve the lower rating based on simply test scores. There is a lot more to the story than that number. Fact is there are lower income students that will skew the test results. Kids like that are dealing with more than just academics and need and do get extra help in the district. The district doesn't let that impact other children who are not dealing with those extra challenges and have time to focus on academics. Coatesville's diversity is its strength and if your child is high performer its going to be more a result of your parenting. Overall I found the teachers will help your child achieve their capabilities and communicate to you as a parent where there needs improvement.Parent Review1y ago - Coatesville Area Senior High School

"I live in this neighborhood of coatesville. A lot of nosey people but for the most part I minds my business and stay to myself. It’s not that bad for me. My neighbors are not bad we get along for the most part. We can borrow food from each other when needed. Parking may be a little scarce. Get togethers could be a little difficult due to parking. Not enough parks for the visitors. You get some bad neighbors after a while but nothing to bad if so you just live with it or move to another location but I feel Coatesville is becoming better day by day. Family and friends are coming together to make it a better community. They have big plans for Coatesville and I’m excited to see what’s in store for our future children. The kids today have a absolutely nothing to do other then school. Schools have after school programs for parents who work a little later to help the kids with homework and school work. I feel safe in my neighborhood because I know almost everybody or know a family member. Mostly everybody in Coatesville know each other or a family member. Unless the person may not be from around the area."

"My neighborhood has limited access to public transportation. You need a car to get around especially if you work in the city. It takes me 10 to 15 minutes to drive to Thorndale so that I can take the train to Center City which takes 1 hr 20 minutes to get there. "
