The I.B. program is incredible and students who elect to participate in the Diploma Programme, most go on to university more prepared than their peers from other top public and private schools. The social justice program and initiatives are changing how the city looks and feels about race, diversity, and opportunities. The building has undergone a $100 million dollar renovation and now has state of the art technology integration and a library and media center any school would envy. The athletics and arts programs are consistently competitive at the state level. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school in Nashville. My son has just left for an elite private school. Academics are great. Principal and school did a great doing the pandemic and the parents are very active in the community. It lacks diversity in the faculty and in the student body, but this is likely due to the location of the school. Having said that, an effort to hire teachers for diversity might help. K-3rd grade are fantastic. The grade to improve is 4th grade. One teacher in particular, the 4th grade director, is just not emotionally ready, talented and/or given the right training to be around kids. She usually brings her home problems to school. Many times my son said "Mrs X had a bad day because of her son and was lashing on us today". It is unfortunate that parents usually don't raise their voices as the teachers make clear they control the recommendation letter process to private schools. My son became more resilient but other kids were emotionally and academically harmed by that particular teacher. Overall, k-3rd is a great experience.Parent Review8mo ago - John T.
