Davis High is a great school with great teachers. My son is a senior and has had a great experience. Competition is pretty high as the town (Davis) is a small community with a very large University of California campus, and thus is filled with parents who have advanced degrees and very high academic standards. I suspect academically weaker students will feel this, but on the other hand academically talented students will have the opportunity to excel. If your child is not academically strong (or at least average) they may be best served by other alternatives in Davis (Da Vinci High), a private school, or in nearby high schools.

I enjoy this school as a parent, the teachers and school environment are inviting and seemlingly caring. The school keeps bulling at a minimum and has a good handle on students behavior in class and outside. There are a good selection of classes and activities to choose from as well as assistance when needed. The campus is clean and decorated with much of the students art. My kids enjoy there time here at Emerson Junior High.

This is an incredible school! It truly celebrates diversity (my kids are friends with kids from all over the world thanks to the university's international program), staff are friendly and dedicated, students are supportive and kind! It is exactly the right amount of rigor coupled with an eye to social emotional learning.We have a dedicated art and music program, excellent reading and resource specialists, incredible inclusion, and a fabulous credentialed librarian who also coached robotics.It is exactly the sort of school you'd hope for in a progressive, university town.
