10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStressful environment! Not enough supportive staff. No aids for the teachers, not enough help in the lunchroom and so on. It's sad because they have wonderful teachers, but poor management. The principal is not open to feedback. My son loved his teacher but felt like he didn't have enough time to finish anything. 10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe intended to move to Westport "just for the schools" but after much thought decided to keep our kids in the Norwalk school district. We came to the conclusion that compared to Brien McMahon and Norwalk high schools, Staples high is in actuality equally rated and not all that. More modern classrooms though. Brien McMahon high in Norwalk offers an international baccalaureate degree, which is demanding to get. And a global studies program. Norwalk high has early college courses, students can graduate with a highschool diploma AND an associates degree Can wholeheartedly confirm that the Norwalk school district is without question a leader in educational innovation, new initiatives and preparing students for a competive world. Plenty of Norwalk students get into Ivy Leagues on their own merit.Other Review5y ago

"My wife grew up here and we moved back and have lived here for 3 years. The schools are outstanding and the town holds on to its cultural and creative roots . Although Westport is affluent it never takes away from the family centric charm and low key atmosphere. "

"Great schools! Compo Beach and Longshore are great for families. Golf too! Longshore sailing school is a great way for everyone to learn to sail. There’s an ice skating rink in the winter at Longshore. Lots of good restaurants for families and couples. "

"It’s a longer ride to NYC these days with the older tracks.. and the highways are often stop and go.. but many people like the trade off of larger properties farther from the city for same money and lower property taxes than Westchester Cty."
