kinda recommend this school (gordon russel might be better) but the teachers are nice and the counselor is really nice. I'd say that EVERY teacher is nice even if you don't like you they'll still be nice. But the staff/monitors have to pay a little more attention to what's happening around them because a fight could just break out and they would realise it some seconds later which actually happened btw! But all though that happened the school is still great, positive teachers that actually help and the school isn't really big so you'll get used to it unlike how big gordon russel is with two gyms and lots of classrooms.

Very, VERY, good experience. I absolutely loved Barlow. I graduated with a 3.8 gpa.I was in journalism and wrote many, many articles.I miss Barlow! I love Sam Barlow High school!

I have had two kids at this school between 2015 and 2022, and interacted with 5 different teachers. The teachers clearly care a tremendous amount for each child and trust the children to show up to do their best each day. I have two neurodiverse and dyslexic kids who are both now reading at or above grade level thanks to the low pressure approaches the school has modeled. Both my kids have a love of learning and are encouraged to think independently and with curiosity. They both LOVE the way that math is taught with the montessori materials. All classrooms that my kids have been in have had a social-emotional element and include calm-down areas with sensory toys, to allow kids to manage themselves / get help calming down when needed. It took me a couple years to get the hang of the communication style of the school administration but I can say that it's been abundantly clear what was needed from teachers on a week by week basis. I would totally re-enroll my kids if I had it to do over again. During COVID the family engagement has been weak.
