  • Yazmin S.
"lots of kids however too much traffic which goes way too fast. Cars don't stop at stop signs and speed through the neighborhood making it difficult to allow your kids to okayy outside on bikes and what not. "
  • Amanda C.
"Dogs seem welcome here in my neighborhood. I have two dogs and if (and when) they get out of my fence, my neighbors return them to my house."
  • Jackandvera

"lots of dogs and kids playing in the street. Seems to be mostly military community. It is about 13 minutes from most things I.e. store, parks, etc... "
  • Leasneath
"There are many people who live in this neighborhood that are doing owners, and walk their dogs in a daily basis. We are definitely a "dog friendly" community. "

"the out of towners usually dont come to this sode of town. so it is nice to mot have all the ruckus."
  • Jennifer W.
"I've lived in this neighborhood for the last 2 years and while I can't say I love it I can say that it's been pretty good to us. It's right outside Ft. Carson so lots of young military couples with young kids live in the 4-plexes at the entrance to the neighborhood with older families in the homes further in. Not a lot to do close by for kids but plenty of quick-eat/deliver restaurants and some clubs you wouldn't want your family going to. If you're willing to drive or walk a little further there is the World Arena about a mile away with LOTS of things to do up and down the hill there. For the most part the neighbors are peaceful, however the inexpensive living tends to attract the ne'er-do-well type. But, because of the semi-established nature they are often run out of the neighborhood quickly and with little-to-no serious issues. In a way this is great to keep serious issues from escalating as they do in other neighborhoods in town but it also means there is often a high turn over in rental properties. Overall I've enjoyed living here and I'm looking to purchase a home further back. There are 2 major "highways" in the area which can be a turn-off for some parents but I've never heard of kids getting hurt as none of the homes back up to the big highway and only a few to the smaller one where people drive knowing it's a blind corner and kids walk along that road to get to school. The schools are improving, District 2 used to be one of the worst districts in the city but the last 5 years or so they've seen dramatic improvement while nearby districts like 11 and 3 have plummeted in their performance and care of students. "Not much drive through traffic; more shopping on the way"

"Traffic is minimal and neighbors still take care of one another, spectacular views and large lots no water restrictions and low cost utilities! "

"We recently bought a house in Stratmoor Hills and just love the area. One of my favorite things to do is to sit on my back porch and watch my dogs play in the backyard. Our neighbors are all friendly and offer a helping hand. It seems like everyone has dogs in this neighborhood so we are always meeting new friends on walks. The community is very close and all the neighbors try to look out for each other. There is a monthly newsletter that comes out and a donation/volunteer home owner's association. There is an annual picnic in the park, spaghetti dinner and so much more! Stratmoor Hills is a great place to live! "
