"I’ve lived in Montrose area for four years and my street is narrow due to parking on the street. My neighbors are friendly, traffic is respectful and major of residents keep their yards clean and all dog owners walk their dogs on a leash I feel safe due to neighbors watch out for each other. "

  • Ccottrill1
"You can get a community family here through school, sports activities, and city event. Lower crime compared to other areas around the south Charleston area. I’d move outside the city if I could to. South Charleston definitely has a diverse community and everything you need is in this area. Nice schools, grocery shopping, sports, playgrounds and all"
  • Ccottrill1

  • Madalsmith
"I’ve grown up in this neighborhood. I’m happy to be able to raise my children here. Great schools. Plenty of shopping, restaurants and activities. Family friendly. "
  • Tanspk6
"If I could find a place that fits my needs vs cost I’d move this week. Without any hesitation I love this area. "
  • Craddocklisa5
"Good schools and less bullying. Low crime. Main drawback is the City mowing your lawn like predatory meter maids and putting liens against your property."
  • Brittany P.
"There is a local dog park where people bring jugs of water to share and leave them. They’re easy to refill and there are several dog bowls out. The park is well maintained but people typically don’t have great control over their dogs and don’t like large breeds to come in. People tend to be rude if you have a breed that is highly trained but they think is too big to play with others. "
  • Lasheets
"No problem - no. Traffic jams until you get Charleston or the Southridge shopping plaza on busy weekends "
  • Mike M.
"Amazing public works. They city stays on top of everything. And they are very involved in the community too. The parks and sports fields are second to none. Wouldn’t live anywhere else. "
  • armourview
"I live in a section of So Chas with multiple dead ends & a circle so not much traffic & perfect for walking dogs. Also just perfect for walking, people have groups that get together to walk in this neighborhood. "
  • Pcghpropertiesllc
"Trick or treating on Halloween is a blast. Many decorate for a number of different national and religious occasions. "
  • Tanspk6
"A very dog friendly community. Nice people, for the most part. Clean streets. Great city government. "
  • Krhodes8122
"The area is well lit and is safe and quiet. Great place for families. South Charleston high school is only minutes away"
  • Christy T.
"I see people always walking their dogs in my neighborhood. There is a park known as Joplin Park right in front of my home. So you either see dog owners at the park, or walking them on the Turnpike, probably going to or coming from the Park. Dog owners can also take advantage of the dog park Joplin has to offer. Joplin Park is perfect for dogs to run around and play with their owners because it's very wide open and spacious enough. There's a water fountain and doggie potty bag station. Friendly people, well lit at night and safe. "
