What Locals Say about Saint Helena

  • Owlsgiants
"My commute is along windy country roads surrounded by vineyards. Usually there are not all that many other cars. The speed limit is 55 mph but if you drive that speed other drivers will tailgate you. "
  • Owlsgiants
"Very narrow roads with no sidewalks that are dangerous to walk along but there is a dog park. It has sections for big dogs and for small dogs. "
  • Owlsgiants
"Not much public transportation. Better have a car. 25 minutes to Napa on a curvy country road. Pretty views of vineyards. "
  • Rebekah G
"This is a special place. So beautiful and so well cared for. I think it takes a particular person to live here, and I think living here demands that you do your part, but that is a good thing."
  • Sue Collins
"It’s a great location in the Valley to be able to launch in any direction and avoid the main throng of traffic. It’s like having a back-door pass to where ever you need to go. "
  • Sue Collins
"There are many families with dogs in the neighborhood. If one gets out or dose a little roaming everyone keeps an eye on them and calls the owner is they’res an issue with their safety. "
  • Andrea R.

  • Michele A.
"Pope street is like a freeway speeding cars that don’t care about the safety of pedestrians or dogs. No police around for speed control. Everyone lives in a bubble here. They don’t care about others, no heart in this town. Only shallow self absorbed individuals. Bad dog owners who let their dogs run free and don’t respect your need to keep your dogs separate. I walk my-dogs at 9 pm for peace and quiet. "
  • Michele A.
"Worst city I have lived in. No one talks to you or acknowledges your existence when you pass on the sidewalk. City is full of self absorbed shallow greedy people as a whole. There are a few good ones left in the bunch. "
  • Yruybal
"I have lived here for 20 years It’s safe, however we miss regular stores for shopping ... most items are more expensive "
  • Lisa
"Fast friends. Beautiful surroundings. Relaxed lifestyle. Great food and wine. Great weather. Healthy lifestyle."
  • Michele A.
"Horrible commute. Two roads only and too much traffic. County was poorly planned with roads and work force in mind. Thjs county is only for the wealthy and the soccer moms. Not for us who have to work. I travel to Sonoma County for real people and shopping. You cant afford to grocery shop in this town."
  • Vanessa
"Great neighborhood, quite small town mostly everything within walking distance restaurants are great friendly people "
  • Maskedtragedy788
"There is a farmers market on Friday mornings during the summer that make the community feel incredibly welcoming. You truly get to see all of the locals, and the fruit and vegetables are legitimate farm to table. "
  • Ariane P.
"Love it. This is my happy place. Nature and serenity, steps away from nice restaurants and fitness activities"
  • John D.
"Yes, private, quiet, safe, and close in. What else could you ask for?"
  • rlieber
"Saint Helena is a picturesque family-oriented oasis in the Napa Valley. Walk everywhere, including vineyards less than one block away. "
  • Barrelrep
"I have lived in the neighborhood where this house is listed for 25 years. We have had almost zero crime and the local schools are very much in demand. This neighborhood also has large (1/4 acre+) yards, which is rare in suburban California. The neighborhood also has a communal park and homeowners pay nominal annual dues (around $100) for the upkeep."
