"The only things missing in the Village of Pittsford are a grocery store and a pharmacy within walking distance. Although you can get a lot of food at the Pittsford Dairy. It is a great place to live. "
  • Harley D.
"I've Lived in this part of New York State all my life, and in my 72 years, have visited 47 of the other states and have found no other area that compares. If you love proximity to nature, yet quick access to the most modern and up to date hospitals, medical facilities, malls and historical districts, then this is the place you're looking for. The four definite change of seasons here is unique in the US, Each of them is exactly three months in length so you never get bored with any one season. Gorgeous, mild springs. Moderately hot, mostly pleasant summers. Beautiful green, red and gold fall colors. And winters that provide the best of skiing (downhill and cross country), snowboarding, snow mobiles, skating, dog sled racing, etc. This area is dotted with countless hills, lakes and rivers, including the famous Lake Ontario and the Finger Lakes. All within just a few miles. The hills, lakes and climate here are perfect for wine production and this area with it's dozens of wineries is reputed to rival the wine country areas of France for scenery and the quality of the wines produced. This Pittsford/Perinton area, is arguably the most desirable area to live in western New York state. There are dozens of large parks and hundreds of miles of trails in this county. A short walk on the trail (aka "linear park") on the other side of the road from this property leads to one of the two best, largest and historically interesting parks in the county, Powder Mills Park. Every day that I drive down to my hangar at the Canandaigua Airport (less than 20 minutes from this house), I pass by this home and have often thought about living there. Now that it's for sale, I may look into it for myself. "
