What Locals Say about Fultondale

  • Mitchell Kyzer
"31 is a wreck. Worst highway I’ve ever had the displeasure of driving. 78 is better for sure. "
  • Trulia User
"Good neighborhood to live in with a family or dog. Lots of churches, shopping areas. Good people and good neighbors. "
  • Kimmy P.
"Very safe. You know your neighbors. All different types; elderly, newly married couples, large families, young couples with children, the mayor lives across the street from us, Everyone is friendly, and there is a walking track that goes from children’s park, which also has a track, playground, picnic tables, pavilions with 8 picnic tables, the other side is a really nice dog park, and tranquil bridges that lead up to a beautiful creek, the separate running trail goes underneath the Decatur Highway, and the trail leads you to just a few minutes walk to Black Creek Park, where the larger part of the creek is on this side. It has a very long and beautiful walking track that runs right by the creek the whole time, there are plenty on picnic tables, gazebos, and pavilions, along with 2 baseball/ softball fields, a nice big bathroom facility, a concession stand, a playground, and also a stage for local artists shows, with bleachers and open seating to watch. Tons of wildlife (the tamer species), and tons of parking, with the Fultondale Senior center building, set up right at the front."

"My commute isn’t too bad using I-65 S. As with any interstate in Birmingham, you can expect traffic and delays during rush hour!"
  • Patrice_j_smith
"I have lived here for the past 5 years and have never felt safer in my life. My children love playing in our yard and our neighbors are friendly and we look out for one another. This is the perfect place to raise a family and be safe. I would recommend that anyone, young or old live here."
  • DeLaina L. S.
"We’ve lived here for nearly 16 years and love the area. The neighbors watch out for each other. There is so much to do and everything is close by, like the library, a beautiful park with a senior center, baseball diamond, playground for the kids, a great mall, lots of restaurants to choose from, several churches, close to my husband”s work, low crime, feel safe, it’s like living in the country but close to the city, close to the grocery store and small town charm with friendly people."
  • Delaina L. S.
"I see people out walking their dogs at the park one block over from our house. It is a beautiful place. We go there for church gatherings such as picnics, watching movies and even celebrating a wedding reception. There is a ball park, a senior community center, which we vote at, and a concession stand. There are also swings, a slide and a teeter tauter for the kids. The track where people walk their dogs is also used by joggers, walkers and runners."
  • Kymochoa
"There is a community magazine that lists monthly events for the community should you wish to participate "
  • Meloluv
"Big acre yards, private, friendly neighborhood & great custom built house for the money. Plus city shopping right down the street from country living!"
  • Matadavid100
"It’s quiet and close to downtown and there’s usually no traffic. Crime is really for an area close to downtown. There’s plenty of stores and stuff to do on the weekends. "
  • Gregory A. H.
"I live and work here for 40 plus years, awesome up and coming community with new parks school system and new urban development being built daily. "
  • Karen S.
"Very easy drive to downtown Birmingham. But far out enough to be quiet and peaceful. Nearby shopping centers. Brand new school and park. "
