What Locals Say about Freehold

Review Highlights

Freehold bursts with small-town ease, quick commutes, lively downtown, and shore-day escapes. Loved for safe, family vibe, walkable downtown, NJ Transit, parks, and good schools. Gripes include Route 9 traffic, rising taxes, car-reliance, and few dog parks.

"Great area for families, kids sports programs and schools. Convenient neighborhood shopping including the freehold mall. Main Street in town offers a wide variety of restaurants and bars. On the west side there are multiple strip malls with a ton of shops and restaurants. Beaches are 25/40 minutes away depending on the neighborhood you choose. Besides all of this you are close to 2 major outlets, the jersey shore outlets and the Jackson outlets. All in all, a great place to raise a family."

"The senior day is a good day because the are out to support our senior the the things that they do and it’s a lot of fun because of the music and the food that they have on that day and u get to meet a lot of people that you do t know and this is a time where everybody gets to met people that they do not know. And another one is when they have the tree lighting in Freehold on Main Street the decorate the town so nice that people come from all over just to see it."
  • Laura
