"There ate loads of dog owners in our neighbourhood, everyone is pretty friendly, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone leave dog mess behind."
  • Trulia User
"Great neighborhood for raising children. Close to everything. There is a special kinda person that normally lives in crofton. The surrounding community call them croftonites and explain them as snooty. "
  • Trulia User
"one good this is that 1/2 of the neighborhood has sidewalks. The big negative to me is the people who speed through the neighborhood. I do not let my kids ride bikes around the block because I feel it is unsafe. "
  • Nlehmann1950
"My husbands family home and we love it. There is such a sense of community throughout the area. Easton has a tremendous amount of cultural and art programs which combined with a feeling of a rural area, gives you the best of both worlds. Outstanding restaurants, antiques and shopping. Best place ever. "
  • Scvino
"Diverse schools. We live in town and it’s tough for kids to find kids their own age - but local neighborhoods are good - although very cookie cutter houses. "
  • Tami.b.weber
"Small town feel on Maryland Eastern Shore. A hidden gem - but also a good ol’ boys local government mentality and resistant to change / growth. "
  • Nlehmann1950

"it's a fairly safe area with lots of children and it's fairly well kept. I trust letting my 9.5 year old out alone to play within the neighborhood without fear or concern. "
  • Msfuzzworthy1
"Its a nice clean neighborhood of good hard working people that seem to care for their homes. Lots of dog walkers, bikers, and joggers make for a nice diversity of friendly folks loving life. "
  • Amanda P.
"I have lived in Tunis Mills for 17 years. This small "village" is very safe and friendly. The town consists of mostly retirees and some families. There's a small Episcopal church right before the locally famous "jumping bridge", or a small wooden bridge across the creek. There are plenty of roads to make a walking routine, and the close by city of Easton (10 minutes) has a safe "rails to trails." Easton and St. Michaels both have a great choice of restaurants. Most of St. Michaels' are privately owned and friendly; however, Easton has some chain restaurants like Chilis, Chick Fil A, and Applebees. There is Idlewild park in the middle of Easton near the local YMCA, and there are some small parks in St. Michaels. There are only 2 public high schools in Talbot County, Easton and St. Michaels High School. Easton has about 1,000 students while St. Michaels has about 250 students. There are many elementary and middle schools and even a few private schools, both elementary and secondary. The traffic good in this area. There are many back roads, which aren't busy. St. Michaels can be very busy in the tourist season. Route 50 runs through the far side of Easton and has heavy traffic on weekends mostly, but there is a bypass near the town. There's usually plenty of parking in town, but often it can be pay parking. There's simple entertainment like a movie theater and ice skating rink. There are also a good amount of bars in both St. Michaels and Easton. Traffic is decent, but there is really no public transportation. Some shuttle buses run through town on big events like the Waterfowl Festival and taxis can be called by phone to pick you up. There are many many ways for citizens to get involved in the community from Habitat for Humanity to Festival of the Trees. The community is so friendly. St. Michaels is clean and quaint. Easton is clean but expanding. There is no graffiti in the main parts of town. Overall, this is a great, friendly, and rural area to live!"
  • Rose T.
"This is a great neighborhood with a good mix of families, young professionals & retired people; teachers, police officers, govt. contractors, clergy live here. Very safe; there are enough people around during the day retirees, stay at home moms to keep watch. Children are able to leave their bikes out without them being stolen. Owners take pride in their properties."
  • Deena D. K.
"Safe and friendly neighborhood for families. Close to schools."
  • Lee
"I love living across from Idlewild Park...very family friendly, always a tennis game or basketball game in progress. The children's park is a big plus for the neighborhood. Great location to walk into town, pass lovely old homes, for dinner or a show at the Avalon, or down the street for those doctor visits. Very convenient. "
