"Drums / Conyngham / Butler Township Valley is a GREAT place to live ~ have been here for over half a century ! Changes - sure ~ many of these properties were working farms and orchards with cows, chickens, horses, goats, sheep, etc. But most of those farmers are now retired and only a handful of their children have taken up the trade. Depending where you live, you might see or hear a tractor in the fields, but not too often now. Sandwiched between Hazleton and Wilkes-Barre, one has easy access to the Malls; "Wally'sMart" ; grocery & drug stores; good medical care; churches/places of worship; restaurants; schools (they just opened a Charter School for the Sciences here in the Valley) and Colleges; cinemas; and Centers for Performing Arts. Private gyms are nearby, and some holistic centers/yoga and other classes are not far away. Still some good hunting on State Gamelands nearby, and some good fishing to be had on the Nescopeck, Susquehanna, and Lehigh, as well as hiking and biking and swimming. Knobel's and Hershey Park are not that far away. Great place to live - a lot safer than in any city - MUCH less traffic. A place to enjoy raising a family with family centric values as the children are "isolated" from much of that because they are near your home unless you or someone else transport them to a specific location, because in the country your children do not have easy to be exposed to the neighborhood gangs down the street- we don't even have sidewalks in most of the Valley ! Welcome to an island of Paradise - located at the Western corner of the Poconos - where the city has not yet creeped into!"
