What Locals Say about Cedar Key

  • Ckclamhouse
"Easy commute to work 5 miles away. School zone is the only slow down when in session. Golf cart friendly community, so sometimes your commute may be slowed if you are behind a golf cart."
  • Gravelsherriff
"Long one road in one road out. Very little traffic with no curves. Straight as a gun barrel. One gas station about half way through the journey."
  • sgwynans
"I have lived here for over 34 years - my entire life - with an occassional move; I always come back. It's a great place to live and raise a family, retire, or just as a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Cedar Key is a charming fishing village and haven for artists of all types. We have an excellent public school educating students from Pre-K to 12th grade. Cedar Key School is currently rated an A school - it feels more like a private school than public. Also, I have always had a sense of safety in our community; it's a place where some people still don't lock their doors. I love our town and the lovely people who live here!"
  • Wifey
"IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A TRUE SENSE OF COMMUNITY, GOOD OLD VALUES AND PEACE AND TRANQUILITY, THEN CEDAR KEY IS THE PLACE TO LIVE!!"
  • Ed G.
"CK is not built up like so much of the Gulf Coast of Florida. It's peaceful but there are some things to do (especially for the outdoors type of person). It's a long way to the WalMart for shopping and some things you take for granted in the cities aren't readily available. If you're a fisherman, a nature lover or a home body this a a great place. If you crave the night life then, for you, this is probably a weekend visit kind of place."
