"Nothing they would think it’s great. They love people walking their dogs. I see it all the time especially to the old town park."

"Easy access to 2 parks to walk dogs in. Alamo Square is the best because it was a large area meant for dogs alone. Overall, very dog friendly! "

"Has a few park choices nearby that we often see families at. We’ve walked at all times of the day and night and never felt unsafe. There are a few girls with great sidewalk chalk skills around the corner that are much appreciated."

"Urban market, opera, ballet, symphony, movie nights in Patricia’s Green. Restaurant and coffee and ice cream culture is big! Lots of great community around the dogs and kids in the park."

"People openly smoke weed so be prepared to answer questions about it. Do not leave anything in car. Never see kids around at all except in parks. "

"Patricias park in Hayes valley is small but dog friendly . Alamo Square Park is also dog friendly. Lots of dog owners in neighborhood "

"Great if youre single, not great for families. Weve had needles, cops, poop etc left in front of our place multiple times. Homeless encampments and open drug use abounds. "

"I have lived in this neighborhood for 10 years. The best part of Hayes Valley is the location. Is it the most centrally located and walking friendly neighborhood in the city. There are also an increasing number of upscale cafes, bars, shops and restaurants. If you can afford to live here you can probably afford to patron those establishments. Overall though, the extremely high cost does not match what you get back. Parking is a nightmare. There is rampant homelessness and constant noise disturbances. There is zero sense of community. Visiting is great, but I would not suggest breaking your budget to live here. "

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for two years and enjoy it still quite a bit. Centrally locates within the city, it had easy access to public and shared ride services."

"Walkable, charming, magical with the little park in the middle of the neighborhood. Getting crowded though, and it’s a magnet for homeless. "

"not enough play areas for the kids. The kids have to play at the parks. they will have to walk across streets with a lot of traffic. "

"It’s a neighborhood that rapidly gentrified in the 16 years I’ve lived here. 2018 Hayes Valley caters to the young and wealthy tech sector, a community I don’t belong to."

"Hayes is a great centrally located neighborhood. You're a short walk from the Mission, the Castro, the Haight, and others. It's an easy 30-minute commute on the F streetcar to FiDi."

"It's a safe neighborhood with lots of young families. There are many parks and other kid-friendly spots in and near the neighborhood. On Hayes and in the nearby Duboce Triangle area, there are plenty of kid-friendly options among the many great shops and restaurants. Like any other city and the rest of San Francisco, there are some bad parts where you need to be aware, but generally the neighborhood is safe."

"Great central location that makes it easy to go downtown or to Golden Gate Park on the Muni 21 line, or to go to the Mission or to the Marina on the Muni 22 line. Walking distance from the opera, the symphony, the ballet, Nourse Auditorium and the new San Francisco Jazz Center. Close to restaurants, shops and bars on Hayes Street. Three blocks to children's playground and basketball court in one direction and three blocks to Alamo Square Park in the other direction. Street parking can be difficult especially after 8:00 pm."

"I love the diversity of the people, the shops, the cafes, the restaurants and the friendliness of the people. I would not live anywhere else."
