"It’s a pretty neighborhood, but during the summer you have to be extremely careful of flea and tick yard infestations because a lot of people let they’re yards get overgrown and depending on where you are in the area some of the sidewalks are messed up badly or have completely been washed away due to flooding during bad weather and not being repaired"

"Highland feels like the center of the city. It feels close to everything. In a way, the neighborhood feels very communal, and I feel proud to live here. The homes are beautiful and the residents are often fun/eccentric/artsy. Unfortunately, there are a lot of slumlords who do not maintain their homes and do not care who they rent to. We hear gunshots nearly every weekend. I don’t feel safe walking around the neighborhood at any time of day. "

"Obviuous sense of community, sidewalks, family friendly, beautiful 100 year old trees, well maintained public parks, located very close to downtown, river activities, SciPort, Gardens and much more. Active Highland/Fairfield restoration Association and a dedicated community drive to increase the number of homes restored and brought back to the atmosphere of a historic well loved neighborhood."
