Description

642 Alvarado is a Mid-Century Modern marvel situated on a Noe Valley hilltop near the Castro. This building in a family-friendly neighborhood mixes Hollywood-worthy views of Downtown and the East Bay (a scene from The Streets of San Francisco was shot on the rooftop) and proximity to shopping, entertainment, and other staples. The building's unique design - situated above ground on piers sunk deep into the bedrock - is just one of 642 Alvarado's standout features. Dynamic, clean lines, an emphasis on minimalism, and lush gardens define the common spaces, while residents also enjoy open floor plans, generous windows, on-site laundry, and other contemporary conveniences.642 Alvarado is a Walker's Paradise, close to 24th Street and Castro Street shops, restaurants, bars, cafes, and more. Douglas Playground, Noe Children's Playground, and Noe Valley Courts offer plenty of green space for dog-walking and recreation. 642 Alvarado is bikeable, and nearby public transportation options include Muni and 24th Street BART.This unit is a rental unit subject to the San Francisco Rent Ordinance, which limits evictions without just cause, and which states that any waiver by a tenant of their rights under the Rent Ordinance is void as contrary to public policy.

"It is an excellent neighborhood for saftey and it is quiet. However, neighbors do not work together. They don’t talk to each other. Not even when locally shopping or having coffee. Sad for such a beautiful place. "

"I love Noe Valley because of the neighborhood feel. Unlike the rest of the city, there are mostly homes (vs apartment buildings), it is super walkable, and there are lots of families. Plus it is safe! The Saturday morning farmers' market has great food and is an awesome way to connect with the community."

Muni and Bart are so convenient to use also very easy to jump on the freeway when needed. It is also one of the sunniest areas of the city."

"I've lived in this neighborhood a year and enjoy it. I love being able to walk to (and claim) both Noe, Bernal and Mission neighborhoods. The neighborhood is quiet but close to rowdiness if that's your thing. Very close amenities, including a new butcher shop and produce store. Many options here for any mode of transportation here - 20 minutes downtown by bike or train."
