"It's quiet and everyone is friendly! We have small events year round from our town council. We have have the opportunity to find food in close proximity and entertainment is easy to access :) "
  • Z8m48vfkq9
"In my neighborhood someone is always walking there dog or dogs. If you leave for work or just like getting up early you will see at least three different people walking there dog at 0800 most mornings. Most people carry a plastic bag for there dog’s poop when they walk. Most people are courteous and at least 96% of the folks speak."
  • Kimberly B.
"Our children love this neighborhood, & we feel comfortable letting them ride their bikes & taking our dogs for a walk."
  • Caitlyn H.
"I am looking to live here because it's close to everything in Columbia but much quieter. I also feel safer in irmo than most places in Columbia central. The neighborhood that I'm looking at also has a family friendly park and neighborhood. The neighbors also appear to be nice and welcoming."
  • Ashley P. T.
"Great sidewalks and tons of routes for varying degrees of difficulty! Big hills or small, lots of shade for the summer and beautiful trees!"
  • Sallymerritt80
"20 minutes to downtown, close to the lake and shopping. Irmo is a nice town with a family atmosphere."
  • Cehaise
"People walk their dogs all the time , but some do not pick up after their dogs. But all in all it’s a nice place to wa K your dog"
  • Nhantong1991

  • Ursula S. F.
"it's a a great community. I feel safe living there and the neighbors are friendly. I really love the school district!!! Plus it's close to lots of restaurants and the mall."
  • Candace C.
"Neighborhood is very quiet and not active. Could be a lot more safer and could be a lot more children. The neighbors are not really neighborly. This community needs to do better."
  • Lmelton12
"It is a cool place where everyone gets along and minds their business. I can have my dogs, no one complains. There have been break ins but i still feel safe."
  • Jalex0120
"Good access to highways. Traffic can be a bit heavy in this area. Good access to restaurants and shopping "
  • Mr W.
"Heavily patrolled really safe neighborhood. Have a lot of unnecessary rules and laws that shouldn’t be "
  • Amandaknewell
"Great community to raise a family. Schools are some of the best in the state. Short commute to Columbia. "
  • Mpbtravel1
"Commute to downtown Columbia can varies from 25 minutes to 35 minutes depending on traffic. There is not a bus system near my neighborhood "
  • AKN
"Well maintained neighborhood, friendly neighbors, safe place for kids to play with the neighborhood kids and be kids. A great place to raise a family, and a short drive to Columbia. "
  • Reggie
"My neighborhood, St Alban’s Wood, is convenient to several shopping areas. There are multiple grocers to choose from. The Okra Strut is in walking distance, and Midlands Technical College is very convenient. Dog walkers can feel safe walking our streets. "
  • JA
"There are no events in my neighborhood, except the meth lab bust and the house fire event. Those were the only event in the past several years. "
  • Niki.rousey
"There are no sidewalks in our neighborhood. The neighborhood is a safe place to walk during the day and at night. "
  • Mpbtravel1
"I love how quiet the neighborhood is. The neighborhood is well-kept and a great place to walk and enjoy the outside. Homes are in great condition"
  • Anitajbrandt
"Neighborhood football get togethers; beginning of the year school kick off; neighbors taking interest in each other."
  • Zeeke320
"Traffic can be congested at 6-8:30 am and 4-7:00pm otherwise it’s not so bad on the cross street. But exiting my home unto the Main Street Kennerly Rd can be downright dangerous !!!! You do have the convience of two grocers and 2 pharmacies near,3 gas stations within 1/2-2miles distance Fatz restaurant,Lil Caesars Pizza, and a local restaurant Swamp Fox,yes it’s a somewhat quaint little neighborhood !!!"
  • Noway778
"The Irmo area is a unique southern small town in the heart of SC. When first developed it was a quiet family based neighborhood with no worries but to the unfortunate tear down of projects and over population of homeless people being pushed outward from downtown Columbia, it’s slowly deteriorating. It is still one of the better neighborhoods to reside in for now. I can’t speak for the next 5 to 10 years. Irmo police does a great job deterring problematic groups. "
  • Michelle M. O.
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 10+ years and we love it! I grew up in this area and have been here all my life!"
  • Stephanie J.
"It takes Less than eight minutes to get to Interstate 26 and about Fifteen mins from Interstate - 20"
  • Mayberry_1
"Love our neighborhood - lived there for 18 yrs and a job transfer makes it necessary to move. We have a protected wetland behind our home and the area is just beautiful. Safe, friendly neighbors, great schools, wildlife like deer, foxes, owls, hawks."
  • Alyshabjones
"Nothing really makes my neighborhood unique. It's a decent neighborhood but I wouldn't brag on itbor "
