"Too long. At least there are a few ways to go to work and get home. So there are options. A So there are plenty of food and drink options on the way if you take highway 72"

"I’m retired; hence, I don’t commute. However, most places I go are easily within 15 minutes. Doctors, brokers, and restaurants are all close."

"It’s quite here, it safe. The one only problem I have living in my area is one episode I had to call the Sheriff department, and they took way too long. Other than that this is a great area to live."

"The traffic is more congested in the mornings and after school /work, but is nothing compared to Madison and Huntsville. I work in Huntsville so it takes about 40 minutes in good driving conditions. As far as staying in Athens goes, I find that it's easy to get around and everything is pretty convenient. "

"It’s a decent neighborhood for people to retire and live the rest of their old lives in. If you’re younger and looking for growth opportunities, this is not the neighborhood to live in. "

"99% of commute is by car. Need more attention to sidewalks, bike lanes and green ways. Not many options to walk, bike or ride to restaurants and grocery. "

"The only way to get around in my town is by car. I do see a few brave souls who walk or ride bikes but it is dangerous because there are no sidewalks and the street lanes are narrow. Athens city counsel needs to address this because Athens is growing. 2 great colleges and Steelcase and Toyota makes it a popular town for families of all ages. Sidewalks and wider lanes would lift moods and reduce bellies."
